Live, from Kickapoo/Edwards, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Kickapoo Creek Saloon and featuring special guest stars, Becky, Eric, Jim and Olivia.
Now please welcome, this week’s host, Kickapoo Creek Saloon!
Alright, here we are at the place formerly known as Ludy’s Kickapoo Creek Saloon, But the Ludys closed up shop here back in 2021 and you read about my last cheeseburger in here by clicking right here.
It re-opened last year and it’s now known as, The Kickapoo Creek Saloon. Let’s go in and check this place out!
The place hasn’t changed at all and that’s a good thing. I see some familiar faces over at that table in the side dining room…
It’s our special guest stars for the evening, Eric, Becky and Jim. This is Eric and Becky’s first time on the blog and Jim’s been a frequent guest star through the years.
Wonderful to join all of them for this Saturday Night Dinner at the Kickapoo Creek Saloon!
Our pretty waitress was Olivia and here she is delvering a drink!
We checked out the menu and Olivia took our dinner orders.
We’re off and running on this Saturday evening out on the town!
Before you know it our appetizers arrived at the table.
We got an order of onion rings and chicken wings. Both were absolutely delicious!
The onion rings were a crispy delight and the Buffalo chicken wings were juicy, tasty and the sauce had just the right amount of zing to it.
We’re off to a fabulous start to our Saturday night dinner!
As you can see, the bar is just about all filled up and that neon sign knows exactly what I’m having for dinner!
That map on the wall is a hold-over from the Ludy’s days, there’s a pin for everyone who has traveled here through the years. That’s an impressive amount of travelers on there!
Opposite the bar is a gaming room for all of you gamblers out there!
There’s also two state-of-the-art dartboards in here for your gaming pleasure!
Meanwhile, back at our table, Olivia is delivering the main courses to our Saturday night dinner!
From the top: Eric got the tenderloin, Becky had a chicken sandwich, Jim bravely ordered the Big Dawg Burger and I got a bacon cheeseburger.
Everything looks fantastic, let’s dig in!
Eric was still working on a chicken wing, which he proudly displayed as Becky looks on at him proudly waving his wing!
As I noted before, Jim bravely decided to take on the Big Dawg Burger!
This is four patties, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle housed between two buns.
I was anxious to see if he could get his mouth around this monstrous cheeseburger and he did! Nice work, Jim!
I got a bacon cheeseburger and it looks like a classic cheeseburger!
I added a large dollop of mustard now let’s try this cheesebuger out!
This is a fantastic cheeseburger!
I got it with lettuce, onions and American cheese and it is one delicious cheeseburger. It’s cooked in a smash-burger style and it’s oh so savory and tasty and the bun is bakery fresh!
We were going to have a drink at the bar after dinner, but it was about four deep at the bar, so we closed out the night at a non-blogging location.
Great to see them so busy in here!
This place has always been known for its cheeseburgers and the legend lives on!
This was a tasty cheeseburger and real Saturday night treat!
Thanks to Becky, Eric and Jim for joining me and being the special guest stars on this first Saturday night in February of 2025!
