It’s baaack! Now that your Carpal Tunnel Syndrome has somewhat healed from scrolling down my usual series of photos here, it’s time to aggravate it once again.
These past few weeks have continued to be quite hectic with getting photos in order for my June Gallery Show (more about that as it nears), and spending Easter weekend shooting some photos with my daughter who was home from college. A few of those “works of contrast” are shown here. She was dressed up that afternoon, and wanted to join me to a few of the abandoned “haunts”, saying it would be a nice contrast. It was indeed.
I also stumbled across (quite literally) what I am calling “The Gas Pump Graveyard”, a final resting place, if you will, for many of them. It was an amazing place and I could not get enough of it in one visit. Also, a few more interesting new/old places including a great old barn with the “OZ" doors also shown here, but I spared you of the dead coyote I damn near tripped over going through the heavy brush leading to it. More include a great 1942 Ford Pickup Truck (complete with “bullet hole ventilation”), an abandoned 1937 Pontiac, and a ride in an amazing 1935 Pontiac (the “Indian Maiden” Hood Ornament is shown here as well) and a few other places of interest (at least for me).
Now that I think Mother Nature finally got the memo that it is indeed Spring, I look forward to returning to these places for more.
Also included here (directly below) is a ‘quickie design’ I did for Anon Photography Company, that I had to do up before someone else thought of the obvious. It’s currently being used in their online presence on Pheed.
Marty recently mentioned one of our favorite viewing experiences with some of the songs featured on “Breaking Bad”, and I will now urge all of you to get into “Fargo” on FX. It’s only four episodes in, and has certainly filled some of the void left by “Breaking Bad” while I anxiously await the final season of “Sons Of Anarchy” to return. Billy Bob Thornton is to “Fargo” what Matthew McConaughey was to HBO’s “True Detective”, which, if you missed it’s eight episode season, do so now, and thank me later.
Speaking of ‘Breaking Bad’, I recently saw an amazing tribute to it online: Click here to check it out.
Finally, this weekend being Mother’s Day, and Monday, May 12 being my Dad’s Birthday (he would have been 87) I am once again paying tribute to he and my Mom, by posting a link to “A Father’s Hands” and the undying love of theirs that still continues.
Most of you regular readers know the story, if not, it has been told here on MBIP before.
Don’t forget to check out, the "Secret Weapon,” “Boris'” radio show on Woody Radio where “Boris” plays some great tunes, some of which you’ve probably never heard. Listen to it right here: "Secret Weapon" on Woody Radio.
