A Day At The Museum—A Depiction of the Dearly Departed by Gene Rubbico

by MBIP

Please join me in this photo tour of things that have not been alive in a long time. I just bought a new camera, and today is the day to take it out of the house for the first time and see what it's capable of. I'm not a photographer like “Boris”, or Clacky...I just like to shoot things for the hell of it. Maybe I should have studied photography and became a world renowned bikini photographer. Next lifetime, possibly?

Anyhow...here is my attempt at a “Boris”-like post, enjoy!

3:50PM—Archives/Navy Memorial subway stop in Washington, DC. It's a nice day outside. It's sunny, clear, and 74 degrees. Let the adventure begin!

3:56PM—Penn Quarter Sports Tavern. We had to visit the restroom facilities, and were a little thirsty—so we stopped here first! Had a 22oz frosty Sam Adams Summer draft. Refreshing!

4:50PM—U.S. Capitol. I walked into a metal pole after I took this picture, dropped my camera bag, tripped into the wifey, and almost got ran over by oncoming traffic. Thankfully, I gathered myself, regained some composure and nobody was worse for the wear.

5:08PM—Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. This is the 2nd most visited museum in the world behind the Louvre Museum in Paris. I did not know this when we went but the Fossil Hall (where they keep the dinosaurs) was closing the next day until 2019! What a lucky choice to visit today! We won't be seeing these old bones for 5+ years.

The rest of the pictures here are all from various spots in the museum. If you ever get a chance to go, check it out!

6:46PM—More old bones!

6:54PM—Poor guy is missing his right foot!

7:10PM—In the mammal section now. Museum closes in 20 minutes. We have to whip through here quickly!

8:57PM—Old Speckled Hen!  We are now at RFD—one of the best beer bars anywhere. This concludes our day and this tour in Washington, DC.

Cheers everyone!
