One of the things I like about doing a daily blog is that it gives me a good reason to be nervous. That might sound kind of crazy and I guess it is kind of crazy, but it makes sense to me. Maybe because I’m kind of crazy! I’m nervous all the time and have been my whole life. Sometimes there’s a good reason for being nervous, but times when there’s really no reason to be nervous and you still are, well, it can make you feel a little unhinged. Trust me!
So doing a daily blog gives me a very good reason to be nervous all the time. I really fret over every post and treat each one like a little show I’m putting on, because essentially, that’s what it is. I try to have a beginning, middle and end for each one and even before I start, I’m kind of plotting it out in my head as to how it will go when I get to that day’s destination. And when I get to the day’s destination and it’s time for me to walk into a bar, a restaurant, a shop or whatever and start doing that MBIP thing I do, I always feel really nervous and kind of sick to my stomach. It’s a real stage fright feeling and it’s kind of a weird roller-coaster high that I’ve gotten addicted to over the years. This blog keeps me nerve-wracked, but it’s a good thing. And nothing is more nerve-wracking than when I do one of the, “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here,” posts.
One day I was up against a deadline for the next day and had nothing. I had put up that day’s post and had no idea what to do for the next day and that is really scary. I’ve only missed a few posts while doing this blog and when I do it makes me feel like my whole world is spinning sideways! So I don’t like that to happen.
Well, anyway, I just decided to go to B Easy, get something to eat and then go up the hill on Main Street to Converse Marketing and ask them if I could eat my lunch in there. I really don’t know why I thought of doing this other than I’ve always wanted to see the inside of that building. So I did it and it was the most awkward and uncomfortable thing ever. But when it was over I knew I had a winner and people really seemed to like it. So far I’ve done this half a dozen times and only been turned away once.
Below are links to all the “Can I Eat My Lunch Posts” so far, check them out and enjoy these MBIP awkward moments in time!
Can I Eat My Lunch In Here?
A Tour Of Converse Manor/Marketing
After the debut of, “Can I Eat My Lunch In Here,” the folks at Converse Marketing got such a kick out of the results the next day, they invited me back for a grand tour of their historic building and here’s a link to that post. I’ve got a really special, “Can I Eat My Lunch,” planned for the next week or so, so stay tuned for that! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
