Halloween falls on this upcoming Monday and I’ve got other things to post here besides that, so I decided to have my Halloween fun yesterday. It all started with an appearance on Good Day Central Illinois and ended with a sweet trip to The Nut House, Peoria’s oldest candy store in downtown Peoria. We’ll begin at the start of the day, so fasten your trick or seat belts because away we go!
Good Day Central Illinois...Masked!
My morning started out with a guest appearance on Good Day Central Illinois. It’s always a lot of fun doing the show, Lauren, Lindsey and Clay are real pros and always make sure the segment flows smoothly. Plus it’s live TV, so you never know what’s going to happen and so far, I haven’t cursed on the show yet!
Since Halloween is coming up this Monday, we decided to talk about the MBIP post on The Costume Trunk I put up last week. Then a funny thing happened after the mask graphic went up...
Things got all kind of Halloweeny!
Since Halloween was in the air I handed out masks that The Costume Trunk owner, Steve Spain had provided...
And we had a little pre-Halloween celebration on the air!
Then Lauren proceeded to do her weather segment with her mask on and it was hilarious! We really had a lot of fun on this segment!
Thanks, once again for all the fun and I look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks! (You can check out the entire segment by clicking here.)
The Nut House...Candy!
After that festive Halloween fun I was in the mood for some candy and there’s no better place to go for candy in Peoria, than The Nut House on Main Street in downtown Peoria, so here we are!
As you can see from the front window, Halloween is definitely in the air at The Nut House, let’s go inside!
This is a small space, but as you can see, it’s packed with sweet treats and savory and salty nuts as well! The Nut House has been selling candy here in downtown Peoria for over 100 years now! There’s the current owner, Debbie behind the counter...hey, wait a second...this is supposed to be a Halloween segment...
Okay, that’s better!
Debbie got to work filling up our Halloween candy box...
This ghoul and boil were waiting in line for a Halloween treat too, so Debbie had to move fast! Can’t keep the customers waiting!
And there we have it, a perfect Halloween treat from Debbie and The Nut House! Sweet!
Holy Toledo, I almost forgot to do one thing...
I have to touch the scale for good luck! Whew, that was close!
Happy Halloween!
