A couple of days ago, Georgie, who owns Noir along with her partner, Galen invited me to the one year anniversary party that happened last night and I happily told her I’d go and do my Thursday night MBIP blog post on it. So I went to Relics gift shop to get them some paper presents for the one year anniversary and while I was there I got a Mother’s Day present for my friend Amber’s mom Diane because I thought that maybe I’d see them on Sunday afternoon, I don’t know why, but I thought this was going to happen. Well, last night I emailed Amber about Noir’s anniversary and she told me that she and Joe were going to Old Chicago to have an early Mother’s Day celebration with her parents. So since I had already gotten her mom a Mother’s Day present I asked if I could join them and she said I could! So, that’s how my Thursday night started, but before we get to that, let’s go back a day behind when I went to Relics to get Diane’s present. Whew, this introduction wore me out! Okay, let’s go back in time!
Wednesday (The Day Before Last Night)
Here we are at Relics gift shop. I came here to get a present for Noir's one year anniversary and also for Amber’s mom, Diane and my sister Terry and my niece, Mary Beth. All three are moms and all three deserve a Mother’s Day present so that’s what I got here (you can see photos from my families Mother’s Day party at Terry’s house on Monday). Shannon rang up the presents because the owner Deb was out of town. Hi Deb! Now let’s fast forward to last night...
Thursday (Last Night)
Here we are at Old Chicago let’s go inside and get this Thursday night started! Okay, Thursday night has officially begun and here we are at a booth with Amber, Joe, Chuck and Diane. I gave Diane her Mother’s Day presents which was a bird change purse with a kitty cat eraser (I thought it was a stone, but Amber and Diane pointed out it was an eraser) and a heart that was a stone. The funny thing about this photo is how flat my hand looks on Diane’s shoulder—it’s really kind of freakish and I love how Diane and Amber have matching outfits! I know it wasn’t planned and it’s about the cutest thing in the world! It was great to see all of them, but after hanging out for a bit I had to head over to...
Noir! It’s the one year anniversary of Georgie and Galen taking the place over! They’ve done a great job and they’ve really made Noir a unique and fun restaurant and bar. Here they are at the table and there’s the paper gifts I got them for their one year anniversary. Happy anniversary, Georgie and Galen and thanks for the great job you’ve done with Noir! I’ve had lots of great nights here and I appreciate what you’ve done with the place!
Jeremy David Baker was playing music over in the corner of the outside patio and he did a great job of playing some wonderful tunes!
Here’s some of the guests that were hanging out at the front table with us: at the top is Rhys and Danielle, Jeremy was our waiter who did a great job of delivering drinks and food through the evening, Terrie was taking a break from handing out wine samples, Emily stopped by and then I met Rob and Jen and last but not least is Yvonne and Todd. I hope I got all those names right, my notes are a little garbled, but it was great to meet all of you!
Let’s go inside and take a look around. I love the lit up bar inside and the dark purple hues in here. Noir has a great ambiance and relaxing vibe to it.
Terrie was handing out wine samples for the first anniversary of Noir!
In addition to it being the first anniversary of Noir, it was also Cinco de Mayo, so Noir had a special menu for the evening. They had guacamole and house made tortilla chips that were really tasty. Rob and Jen had the Lamb Lollies and they looked so good, I got the taco flight and it was a delicious trio of tasty tacos! The food at Noir is so good, if you haven’t been you should really check it out.
The sun is setting on the outdoor front patio at Noir and this has been a really great evening!
But then the MBIP camera started fuzzing out on me! Check out the third shot, it totally spazzed out on me! Below is Jeremy along with Matt and Jeremy was nice enough to give me his new CD! You can read more about Jeremy by clicking right here! Sorry about these fuzzy shots. Hate the MBIP camera. HATE HATE HATE it!
The MBIP camera rebounded and took a nice night shot of Noir...
But then it fuzzed out again as I was surprised by Amber, Joe and their dog Tallis stopping by! It was great to see them again and I realized this morning I had shut my flash off on the camera, so it was really my fault for the fuzzy shots. Hate myself...HATE HATE HATE myself! We’ll see you all tomorrow!

Bonus Photo Of The Capturing of Sergeant Squeak!
About a week ago I introduced you all to my new roommate, Sergeant Squeak. He’s a taxidermy piece of art created by my friend, Amber. Yesterday Amber sent me this shot of her cat, Thurston after he had captured Sergeant Squeak. Below it, is the after-portrait of Sergeant Squeak after Amber revived him from Thurston’s initial capturing. I love that photo of Thurston looking so content! Thanks for sending it along, Amber and tell Thurston we all say hello!
