Today marks the 35th anniversary of the original release date for the movie, Fast Times At Ridgemont High. That makes me feel old because I saw it when it first came out at the Beverly Theater here in Peoria. The film was adapted from a book written by Cameron Crowe which was a true story about how he went to high school and documented his experience in the book, “Fast Times At Ridgemont High - A True Story.” The book came out in 1981 and the movie adaptation was released a year later on this very day of August 13th. So in honor of this anniversary there’s six Fast Times At Ridgemont High links and below that are the coming attractions for next week here on MBIP!

Last night I went to Peoria’s newest bar...well, actually it’s a Speakeasy called Tannins & Hops. It’s really a cool concept and you can see photos of the Speakeasy and my Saturday night meal tomorrow. Tuesday we’re taking the first road trip of the ten week ice cream tour to a bar that has homemade ice cream sandwiches, tune in on Tuesday to check that out! Wednesday is going to feature my cousins Patty and Danny and our lunch that we had at what used to be Spalding High School. Danny graduated from there in 1969 and I thought it would be fun to have lunch with him and Patty there and then take a little tour of the building. Thursday will feature a video that I haven’t thought of yet and Friday we debut our monthly bar feature which is going to be called, “The Thirsty Third Friday.” This month’s Thirsty Third Friday is going to be a pizza party at a bar that a lot of people probably don’t even know exists! Okay, I have to get ready for the road trip that will be featured on Tuesday, have a groovy and gravy Sunday and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
