Sometimes I get busy planning upcoming posts for this blog and I kind of forget about things right in front of me, like today’s post! I was driving to work yesterday when I realized I didn’t have my weekly People Of Peoria person for this week. While I never blog about my night job, I will say that it’s fairly close to Martini’s On Water Street so I drove down there and they were closed but it was just about fifteen minutes from their opening time. As I started to walk back to my car, I saw a woman getting out of a car and asked if she worked at Martini's. She said she did and then I told her I did a local blog and she smiled and said I had taken her picture before. I thought she looked familiar and she said I could come back later as she was just opening up Martini’s and didn’t have time for the photo right then and there. So I went to work, finished my shift and went back to Martini’s On Water Street and got reunited with a Peoria person from the MBIP archives. You can meet her and find out where we first met by scrolling downwards!
People Of Peoria: Person Number 13—Christine
This is Christine, who bartends right here at Martini’s On Water Street (they have over 100 martinis on their cocktail menu, check out their facecrack page right here). She’s looking very pretty and this is almost an anniversary celebration for the two of us as we first met and I took her photo almost four years earlier on February 28, 2014 when she was bartending at Lucky’s Modern Dive in Peoria Heights. You can see that link by clicking here. It was great to see her again and we were both amazed that four years has gone by since we first met! In addition to catching up, I asked Christine this week’s Peoria’s Favorite Five questions and her answers are right below this!
The Peoria Favorite Five List
What’s your favorite martini? I’d have to go with a traditional dirty martini, garnished with one of our delicious garlic jalapeño olives.
Outside of Martini’s, what’s your favorite Peoria bar? That’s a tough one, but I’ll pick two, The Bearded Owl, which just opened up down the street and McMahon’s Pints & Plates which is in Washington, but that’s close enough.
Who’s your favorite Peoria Person? I have two, my tiny person and my better half.
What’s your favorite curse word? Fuck-all, there’s no real reason why this is my favorite curse word, but it just fits every occasion.
Who would you like to give a shout-out to? All of the downtown Peoria businesses including, Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern, Thyme, The Bearded Owl, Tannins & Hops and Johnny’s Steakhouse.
The Official People Of Peoria Shout-Out: Here’s to you Blue Duck Barbecue Tavern, Thyme, The Bearded Owl, Tannins & Hops and Johnny’s Steakhouse, someone out there loves you!
