Okay, just about a week left before showtime! I haven’t been this nervous about anything for a long time and it’s really exciting! Since it’s almost showtime, I thought I’d post some photos of where the show is going to be, the fabulous and elegant Apollo Theatre on Main Street in downtown Peoria.
Apollo Theatre: The Outside
The Apollo Theatre was built in this location in the early 1900’s, making this a true historical theatre.
There’s the entrance and the coming attractions to the left of the door.
The Marty Monologues, never thought I’d see my likeness on the theatre here. Thanks again to Chelsie Tamms who created and designed the poster and all of the art for this show. Here’s her website to see more of her work: Lettering Works.
Apollo Theatre: The Inside
These stairs lead to the theatre.
One reason I wanted to have the show in here is that it feels like you’re really attending a special event from the moment you walk into this elegant theatre.
Everything in here is ornate and it feels like walking back into a time when you had to actually leave your house to seek out entertainment.
Lights shine down from the lavish gold-flaked ceiling.
Here’s a side view of the inside seats and far wall.
This will be my view a week from tomorrow. Yikes! I have to go rehearse now!
There’s still tickets available and here’s the places that you can buy them at: Acme Comics, Kenny’s Westside Pub, Lit. on Fire Used Books and Relics Gift Shop.
I hope to see you there!
