Today’s blog is a bit of a quickety-blickety blog because I have a ton of stuff to do today, the first thing after I post this is being a guest on Steve Tarter’s PJ Star podcast which will be airing live on facecrack around 11:30AM this morning, so tune into that! We’ll be talking about the blog, Peoria and of course, The Marty Monologues that’s happening this Sunday night! Hopefully you’ve gotten tickets for that, but if not all the details about the show can be found right here!
Speaking of the Marty Monologues, we had a coin-counting contest over on the MBIP facecrack page and today, we’re announcing the winner from a place I don’t really like or endorse at all, the Wal-Mart on Allen Road. I’m doing it from there because it’s got a Coinstar coin-counting machine. Last time we did a coin contest, MBIP reader, commenter and friend, Mikey C. volunteered to take me to his bank to have the coins counted for free, but they were grumpy about it and told us not to come back with change again, so I’m reluctantly heading off to Wal-Mart, the evil chain store!
Okay, here we are at Wal-Mart, I put the coins in a shopping cart because they’re really heavy! I didn’t think it would be that crowded here at 1:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, but look at all the cars. Sometimes I really hate life and this is one of those moments. Okay, we’re inside and I just asked a guy where the Coinstar machine is and he pointed me down this aisle to...
The Coinstar machine!
If you want cash, they keep almost twelve percent, you can get all your money if you choose a Wal-Mart gift card but I’d rather give Coinstar twelve percent of my money rather than come back to this fucking place, so cash it is!
Okay, time to start counting!
I started pouring coins into the slot and now comes the fun part, watching the total grow! I’m thinking that most of the guesses were way too low. Lots of people didn’t even guess over 100 bucks and I know from experience that it’ll easily be over 200 dollars.
I’m dumping the last of the coins into the slot now...
The MBIP coin tub is empty, Ringo, I think you know what to do now...
Thanks, Ringo and now...
The grand total of the coins is $318.83! I told you it would be over 200 bucks! And the winner is...
Tequilla Jo, the only person who guessed over 300 dollars! Congratulations, Tequilla Jo! You win fifty bucks and two tickets to The Marty Monologues! Contact me or just show up at the show, Sunday night at The Apollo Theatre at 7PM and the money and tickets will be waiting for you!
Thanks to everyone who played and don’t forget to tune into the PJ Star facecrack page around 11:30AM to watch the live Steve Tarter interview with Yours Fooly!
