Yesterday I put up a post about getting into the Halloween spirit, getting a costume and trick or treating around Peoria. I went to three shops and got three treats to take on the special Halloween version of Good Day Central Illinois, which I’m renaming Boo! Day Central Illinois for this festive day.
I went this morning, took pictures of the program in progress and below are pictures from this morning’s fun edition of Boo! Day Central Illinois!
Okay: Lights, camera…Boo!
Talk about a rude awakening! This is Peoria,Illinois at seven in the morning today. Yeah, we’re having a snowstorm on Halloween. For those of you that have been reading this blog through the years, you’ll know that this does not make me happy as I HATE snow! Let’s get inside and pretend this isn’t happening!
Producer Sara let me inside where it’s nice and warm! I love her outfit and her smile!
Back in the lunchroom I met Dr. Brian who’s also a guest today. He’s dressed up as Waldo from Where’s Waldo. I guess we know where he is now, so time to play another game!
Okay, we’re in the studio now and the show has just started! There’s GDCI producer, Andrew and Shelbey and Mark are on the set seated around a table while Molly is doing the weather in front of the green screen.
This segment features dietician Brooke from HyVee and she, Shelbey and Mark are making some spooky Halloween treats. They’re featured in the last two photos and they look pretty frightening!
Molly joined Shelbey and Mark on the set and I got some shots from the camera’s point of view.
Andrew puts a microphone on Dr. Brian and he talked about Halloween safety tips that everyone should be aware of. My tip for the day is this: Stay inside and drink heavily! It’s a winter horror show out there!
As you can see, being an on-air personality isn’t always glamorous, there’s Mark moving the furniture under Andrew’s direction.
Mark, Shelbey and Molly have moved from the GDCI set to the WMBD weather desk.
More moving of tables and this one has three pumpkins on it.
Here’s a shot from CAM-1, looks like a pumpkin carving contest is coming up!
I was right and they took knives and started slicing the pumpkins up. Molly carved a thunderbolt in hers, Shelbey created a triangle face and Mark turned his into a football helmet! I’ll give Mark the award because that’s the most original pumpkin carving idea ever!
Okay, now it’s time for my segment and I put my Swami outfit on and got on the set.
Here’s a shot from the GDCI website, click here or on the picture to watch the segment (right now it’s just the picture, hopefully the video will be uploaded soon). Thanks to Mark, Shelbey, Molly and Producer Andrew for letting me hang out and get some behind the scenes photos today, it was a blast as always!
