Well, we’re up to 40 weeks on this clucked up chicken tour, so that means we have 16 weeks to go on this fowl tour! That’s four months, so I’m guessing by the time I take a few breaks, we’ll be winding this up sometime in December. It’ll be here before you know it, mark my words!
I wanted to bounce back after last week’s less than stellar stop, so I thought I’d go and sample a chicken dish at PV II restaurant on Allen Road. I’ve been there before and the food is always fabulous, so let’s get the cluck over there!
Here we are at PV II Restaurant on Allen Road. As I mentioned, I’ve been here before, but it’s always been for dinner, I thought it would be fun to mix things up and try a lunch here.
Plus I’m meeting two friends for this clucked up excursion and you’ll be meeting them real soon! First we need to walk in the door!
I walked in and met Kelly, the pretty hostess behind the podium.
I also saw a little statue of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld! No soup for you! Well, that’s okay because I’m eating chicken today! This takes me back to a Tripping With Marty post from 2012!
Kelly not only led me to the table for lunch, she took a picture of myself and the two friends I was meeting, Jeanette Brickner and Steve Tarter!
Both have been guests on the blog before and it was great to see both of them and catch up! We didn’t mustard though. Sorry, I couldn’t help that, let’s just keep moving along!
There’s Steve and Jeanette perusing the menu, I already knew what I wanted because I had looked at the online menu.
Kelly took our orders and then I abandoned Steve and Jeanette and was off and running with the MBIP Camera, it’s what I do!
There’s the main dining areas and tables in the restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Tables and comfortable booths line the walls around the perimeter of the restaurant.
There’s a nice bar area and as you can see, it’s fully stocked! If only I didn’t have to go to work in two hours, I’d be sampling some of the wonderful drinks offered over here!
And of course, since this is an Italian restaurant, there’s plenty of wine to choose from! A bottle of white…a bottle of red…
There’s even wine on the walls! And check out the obligatory photographer shadow in the photo, I love it when that happens!
Below are the owners of PV II Restaurant Amy and Chef Josh Utech and their children and dog. What a nice looking family!
Meanwhile, back at our booth…
Lunch is served! Steve got a half a chicken sandwich and a half steak salad. The sandwiches are served on toasted Basil and Foccacia and there’s also chips. That’s a big lunch!
Jeanette got the seared tuna salad with Italian Vinaigrette. They both said the food was delicious!
I started off with a salad with the house Italian dressing. I like my salads simple with just greens and carrots and this was prepared perfect and it tasted great.
Now on to the star of today’s lunch, this week’s chicken dish!
I got the Chicken Rollatini and this is quite a big luncheon portion!
The dish is a chicken breast rolled with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, then they flash fry it and finish it by baking it in a rich mushroom cream sauce. It’s served with fresh shavings of Parmesan cheese on top.
It looks and smells fabulous! Time to dig in!
Wow, this is simply fabulous! The chicken is tender and tasty and there’s such a nice blend of flavors going on.
The mozzarella and prosciutto compliment the chicken perfectly and the pasta and rich, creamy mushroom sauce makes the dish downright decadent and delightful!
When I first saw the large portion, I thought I’d end up taking half of it home, but I devoured the entire dish in record time! My thanks to the chef for an unbelievable lunch!
And thanks to Kelly for the fantastic service and to Jeanette and Steve for joining me, wonderful to spend an afternoon with those two!

Bonus Photos From Tarter Source!
Steve recently retired from the PJ Star, but that doesn’t mean his career is over, it’s just going to move to different locations. One of those locations is Peoria Life, where he’s going to continue to do his Tarter Source Podcast.
Last Week Steve invited me to be a guest and you can hear and watch that interview on the Peoria Life page by clicking right here. Below are some photos from the fun interview at the Widecast Studios on Main Street.
Peoria Life is a website that features a large variety of locally produced shows and podcasts, you can check them out right here.
This is the studio that they shoot all of them from and it’s very impressive and professional in here.
There’s the desk we’re doing the interview from and that’s Tim Johnson with Steve at the desk. Tim founded Peoria Life back in 2012.
Tim runs the controls and directs the episodes from this room.
Here’s a shot I took of the monitor right before we went on the air, live!
Thanks to Steve for having me on as a guest. It was a fun interview, as they always are!
