You don’t see meatloaf sandwiches on too many menus around town, in fact I think the only meatloaf sandwich I’ve ever had in the seven years while doing this blog was at the Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe. And it’s not just any old meatloaf sandwich, this is a gourmet meatloaf sandwich and it definitely lives up to that title!
So it’s time for our weekly look between the bread and check out this week’s Sandwich of Peoria!
Here we are at the Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe. This place has been a fixture on the Peoria Riverfront since before the Peoria Riverfront was a thing!
The restaurant and bar are decorated in NOLA style and it’s bright and colorful in here. The food is all made fresh on the premises and the menu is full of unique and eclectic fare.
There’s also a full bar and live music every weekend.
They specialize in tasty food and fun and if you’ve never been here you definitely should check it out!
This is Julie Maag, who was a waitress here when we visited on this blog post from a couple of years ago, but she’s now the owner of Rhythm Kitchen! Congratulations, Julie!
Now on to this week’s Sandwich of Peoria!
Here’s the Gourmet Meatloaf Sandwich!
The Gourmet Meatloaf sandwich consists of two thick slices of their homemade meatloaf garnished with a house ketchup. The sandwich is housed in two slices of toasted and buttered multi-grain bread and this is one delicious and satisfying sandwich!
It’s hand-held comfort food and it’s available on the luncheon menu, but I bet if you ask nicely they might make you one for dinner as well. (UPDATE: Rhythm Kitchen just confirmed that you can indeed order a sandwich for dinner too! Hooray!)
It ‘s one of the biggest sandwiches in town and it’s delicious and definitely nap-inducing! Luckily there’s a couple of couches inside of the Rhythm Kitchen!
