I’ve been doing Meanwhile back in Peoria for close to seven years now and in that time I’ve devoured a lot of sandwiches!
Everyone likes a tasty sandwich and I spent a year sampling them on my year-long sandwich tour and I’ve eaten plenty of others on Saturday Night Dinner and various luncheon posts.
I thought it would be a fun and easy Saturday series to spotlight a different sandwich every week and then have the link to the post it originated from.
So here we go with the debut of…Sandwiches of Peoria!
As you can see, there’s a nice selection of sandwiches on Castle’s Patio Inn menu.
The two signature sandwiches of this iconic Peoria Pub are the “Famous” Prime Beef and The Castle Crown.
In my not so humble opinion the Castle Crown is one of the best sandwiches in Peoria!
There it is, The Castle Crown Sandwich.
The sandwich has slices of tender and juicy prime beef and it’s topped with grilled onions and pickles.
It’s served on a bakery fresh roll that’s been dipped in the au jus from the beef and a generous slathering of the Castle’s homemade garlic cheese spread.
It’s all that and a side of chips!
