Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Rizzi’s Italian Restaurant and featuring special guest stars, Christopher, Kyle, Bekim and Gina! Now please welcome this week’s host, Rizzi’s!
Here we are at this week’s Saturday night destination, Rizzi’s Italian Restaurant.
There’s the welcome sign in the foyer with tonight’s special’s, let’s go in and start our Saturday night!
Wow, it’s a full house in here tonight…
But luckily there’s some seats up front at the bar. I snagged one and right on cue, Christopher the bartender brought me over an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser. The evening is off to a wonderful start!
I placed my dinner order and while that’s being prepared, we’ll take a few photos.
There’s the back of the bar and as you can see, they have a nicely stocked inventory back there!
Sparkly wine glasses hang overhead at the bar.
Here’s a shot from the other side of the dining room.
Comfortable booths line both sides of the restaurant.
Rizzi’s is a family-owned restaurant and there’s a portrait of owner, Bekim, his wife Sindis and their daughter and son.
There’s also the obligatory PJ Star review written by Danielle Hatch.
Meanwhile…
Back at the bar…
Dinner is served!
I started off with an appetizer of the Crispy Mozzarella. I’ve never had this here and it was so delicious!
The Mozzarella is deep-fried with a Panko bread crust and seasoned with herbs and sits atop a rich marinara sauce. What a great start to this Saturday night dinner!
For my main course I got the Fettucine Carbonara, which is fettuccine pasta with chunks of Prosciutto, onion and it’s covered in a rich and creamy Alfredo sauce. The pasta is homemade and this was so delicious!
After dinner, Kyle the head chef and the man responsible for this wonderful dinner came out and said hello.
Great to meet him and then Bekim, who owns Rizzi’s came over and it’s always great to see him and catch up on things. He said business has been great and his family is doing well. Very nice to hear!
There’s Gina and Christopher serving up two Blood Orange Cocktails which are the specialty cocktails of the month. The drinks looked delicious so…
I had Christopher make one up for my dessert.
This is a Blood Orange Old Fashioned cocktail and it was a tasty treat and a wonderful ending to another delicious dinner at Ritzi’s Italian Restaurant!
I had two items from Rizzi’s menu that I’ve never tried before: the Crispy Mozzarella appetizer and the Fettucine Carbonara.
The Crispy Mozzarella was a decadent delight! It’s three orbs of deep-fried mozzarella cheese breaded in Panko bread crumbs. It’s crispy on the outside and the cheese is rich and gooey inside and it’s fried with herbs that give it added flavor.
For the main course I got the Fettucine Carbonara.
The pasta is made in-house and it’s swimming in a rich sea of creamy Alfredo Sauce with chunks of Prosciutto and a hint of onion. It was so delicious!
