Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Frozen Pizza starring this week’s host, me. Now please welcome this week’s host, from the MBIP World Headquarters, me.
Alright, I got this pizza last week from Schnuck’s.
This is the Home Run Inn frozen pizza and I’ve never tried ths before. This is an actual pizza place in Chicago and they have several restaurants there. The history of the place is on the back of the box and it’s a family-owned business that started back in 1923.
The directions say to pre-heat the oven to 450 degrees. Hmmm…what should we do while that’s heating up?
Oh I know, we’ll have a Bud Light tallboy, cheers!
Here’s the pizza out of the box. It kind of looks like it has freckles.
Extreme close-up!
Okay, the oven is heated up, so in goes the pizza. The directions say to put it on the rack in the middle of the oven, so that’s what I’m doing.
Here’s some shots of the place in Chicago I found online. The first two are archival shots of the first restaurant and the last two are photos of the place today.
Okay, the pizza is done, let’s take it out of the oven.
Here’s the box to reality comparison. While it doesn’t resemble the photo on the box, it looks pretty good.
I seasoned it with some black pepper and Texas Pete’s hot sauce and cut it up into four slices. Now we’ll let it cool. Now what should we do while this cooling process is happening?
Oh, I know, we’ll have another beer! Cheers!
Wow, this is really good frozen pizza! If I were at a pizza restaurant and they served me this, I would think that it was made in a restaurant. I got the last one at Schnuck’s last week, but hopefully they’ve restocked it.
I hope you’re all socially distancing and that this shit will be over as soon as it can be. Take care, be safe and well and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
