There’s a new restaurant that’s opened up at the spot where Double A’s used to do business and that restaurant is Weaver’s Fresh Food & Drink.
The restaurant is owned and operated by Matt Weaver, who previously was one of the proprietors of Shelton’s on Farmington Road. He’s now putting all of his efforts into this new location, which is still getting ready to do indoor dining. Until then they have take-out and curbside service available.
I checked out the menu online and there’s some tasty choices, so I ordered my take-out meal and now let’s go pick it up and take a look at Weaver’s Fresh Food & Drink.
Weaver’s is just down the road from the MBIP World Headquarters, so we’ll hop in the MBIP Mobile and we’ll be there before you know it.
And that’s a nice parking job, if I do say so myself! (Amber inside joke alert!)
And whoomp, here we are!
They’re still working on the dining room and bar, but rumor has it that they’ll be up and running in a week or two. Check their facecrack page for updates. Till then they have curbside and carryout available from 11am to 8pm.
You pick up your order over at the side door here. Check out the obligatory side door mirror shot. I love it when that happens!
I walked in and Renee had my order and served it up with a pretty smile. I asked if I could take a quick look around at the dining room and bar and she told me I could.
I think I’m the first one to get photos inside of here, so this is yet another MBIP scoop!
They’re still putting the finishing touches on in here, but it looks really nice! I love the chandeliers and the wooden floor.
I met Seth, who’s the kitchen manager while wandering around in here.
There’s a faux fireplace and some art on the walls of the dining room.
There’s a large bar up at the front of the room with a rustic wooden wall behind it.
Okay, let’s hit the road while the take-out meal is still hot!
There’s the meal in the MBIP Mobile and through the magic of these here interwebs, there it is in the MBIP Kitchen and Tasting Area.
Let’s pop open the first course, which is a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
There’s the meal out of the bag and check out that sandwich, it looks fabulous! Let’s put the meal on a plate and dig into this week’s Saturday night take-out feast!
I got a three course meal for tonight’s dinner. There’s Sweet Heat Mac & Cheese, Cole Slaw and the Stockyard Melt sandwich. This looks and smells fabulous, let’s dig in!
I sampled the side dishes first and they were delicious! You can read more about them in the review below, but the Cole Slaw was crispy, tart and creamy and the Sweet Heat Mac & Cheese was a fabulous taste treat!
Now on to the main course!
This is the Stockyard Melt sandwich. It consists of two burgers, American and white American cheese, pickles and onions. It’s topped with their homemade Tyler’s sauce and housed in buttered and toasted Texas toast.
What a beautiful looking sandwich, let’s try it out!
Wow, this is such a tasty and flavorful sandwich. The burger is seasoned and savory and the cheese and the Tyler’s sauce compliment it perfectly. The grilled and buttery Texas toast takes this to such a delicious level!
This was my first meal from Weaver’s, but it definitely won’t be my last!
I ordered a three course dinner from Weaver’s and it was a trio of tasty delights!
I got two sides, Cole Slaw and their Sweet Heat Mac & Cheese. The Cole Slaw was crispy, tart and had just the right amount of creaminess to it. It was a nice start to the meal.
Next up, I sampled the Sweet Heat Mac & Cheese. I love mac and cheese and this was maybe the best I’ve ever had!
It’s made with white cheddar, romano and cream cheese and they add their own sweet heat seasoning. It’s rich, creamy and the sweet heat seasoning gives it a unique sweet and spicy flavor. If you love mac and cheese (and who doesn’t) you need to try this out pronto!
For the main course, I chose one of their signature menu items, the Stockyard Melt sandwich.
It’s two burgers that are cooked smashed style, seasoned and seared on a flat top grill. The burgers are made with Alwan’s special blend ground beef and they are tasty and juicy.
They’re topped with American and white American cheese, the homemade Tyler’s sauce and crisp pickles and onions. The sandwich is housed in buttery, toasted Texas toast and this is definitely a four star and two napkin sandwich! There’s so many flavors going on and it’s a real unique taste treat!
I’m anxious to sample more of the tasty items off of the menu and I’ll be back soon! You need to check out Weaver’s for your next take-out dinner. And as I said, soon they’ll have full-service indoor dining and bar service.
Welcome to the neighborhood Weaver’s!
