Okay, I’ve still got eggs left over from the last Marty Meal, so I thought that this week we’d make a fried egg sandwich.
So let’s get cooking!
The ingredients I’ve purchased for this week’s Marty Meal include, clockwise from left: Krispy Kreme doughnut balls, rye bread, silicone egg rings, sharp cheddar cheese slices and a Spam Single.
Plus I’ll be using the leftover eggs, spices and seasonings from the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
I was going to use ham in this fried egg sandwich, but at the grocery store I happened to see this Single Spam slice for sale.
I’ve never eaten Spam and as a single person I appreciate them selling single slices. That way you don’t have to deal with leftovers or feel guilty for throwing food away.
I put the slice in a pre-heated, buttered pan and seasoned it with Cajun seasoning, mustard powder, Cayenne flakes, hot sauce and some liquid smoke. Okay, we’ll let that sizzle in the pan for a few minutes while we get the rest of this meal cooking.
I buttered two slices of the rye bread and put them in the oven to toast them.
The Spam Slice is all fried up, so we’ll put it off to the side for now.
Now we’ll add a layer of cheddar cheese to the toasted rye bread slices and put them back into the oven.
Next it’s time to fry the eggs.
I added some more butter to the pan and I bought these silicone egg rings. You put them in the pan and they help make a perfectly round fried egg happen.
Except the eggs leaked out from under, so I just broke the yolks and tossed them around in the pan until they were done.
I chopped the Spam Slice into cubes and now it’s time to put this sandwich all together and plate this week’s Thursday Minute Marty Meal!
This was such a tasty sandwich!
The fried eggs and seasoned Spam Slice really complimented each other nicely.
The eggs were creamy and the Spam was surprisingly tasty and savory. The rye bread made for a nice crunchy base and the melted sharp cheddar added a tasty, creamy richness to the sandwich.
For dessert I’m having Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut balls. Sweet!
And now we pause for this commercial message!
