I thought that this week I’d whip up a casserole and dreamt up a recipe in my head, went to the store and got the ingredients. Now it’s time to bring it to life!
Let’s get cooking!
The ingredients for this week’s Marty Meal are (clockwise from left): Chicken in a Biskit crackers, Sharp Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Egg Noodles, Ritz Crackers, chopped onions, ground beef and Caste’s Patio Inn Garlic Cheese Spread.
Plus I’ll be using seasonings and French dressing from the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area.
And of course the most important ingredient, a Bud Light tallboy.
The first step is grilling up the chopped red onions. Then we’ll put them in a bowl off to the side.
The ground beef gets browned in the pan and then the grease is drained off of it.
We’ll put the ground beef back in the pan, add the grilled onions and season it with black pepper, ground mustard powder, hot sauce and a generous dollop of French’s Yellow Mustard.
The cheese is added next. I’m using one packet of Velveeta Cheese Sauce and then I added some Creamy French salad dressing for another layer of flavor.
Next I put in a generous amount of Castle’s Patio Inn Garlic Cheese Spread. This is really going to add to the cheesiness factor of this casserole!
I took a taste and I could eat it right out of the pan! But we must move on, we need to make a casserole here!
We’ll add the egg noodles to the boiling water and then drain them after about ten minutes cooking time.
Now we combine the cheeseburger mixture with the noodles.
I tried a forkful of this and it is so delicious!
Time to turn this into a casserole!
I poured the cheeseburger noodle mixture into a pan and then put a layer of sharp shredded cheese on top.
I put it in a 500 degree, pre-heated oven and after about five minutes the cheese had melted nicely on top.
But we’re not done yet! One more step to go!
I wanted to add some crunch to this casserole, so I smashed up a box of Chicken in a Biskit, put a layer on top and put it under the broiler for a minute.
Here it is and I can’t wait to dig in to this cheesy, crunchy casserole!
Time to plate up this week’s Marty Meal!
I started off with a few Ritz crackers topped with the Castle’s Garlic Cheese Spread. A perfect start to this week’s Marty Meal!
If you live in or near Peoria, this cheese spread is sold at Castle’s Patio Inn on Wednesdays and Fridays. Check out the details here.
The cheeseburger casserole was some of the best comfort food I’ve ever had!
The ground beef was savory and seasoned nicely and the three cheese mixture added a nice creamy taste and texture to the dish. The Chicken in a Biskit crackers delivered a nice crunch and this so satisfying and it’s one of my favorite Marty Meals of all time!
And now…some Chicken in a Biskit inspired artwork!
