And now please welcome this week’s Saturday Night host, Agatucci’s!
Okay, we’ve wound up the first week of 2021 and I thought it would be a great way to start out the year by getting a dinner from my friends at Agatucci’s pizza parlor. This is Peoria’s oldest and most traditional pizza pie restaurant and bar!!
We can’t go in due to the on-going pandemic, but I can show you some photos from posts from the past in those wonderful pre-pandemic times, which hopefully we can return to later this year!
Here’s the beloved Aggatucci’s bar!
I can’t wait till I can come back here and hang out at the bar, it’s going to be one of my first stops A.V. (After Vaccination.)
There’s so much history and hidden gems in here like the classic Hamm’s Beer sign behind the bar.
And there’s the owners and hosts of Agatucci’s, Danny and Tony Agatucci! Two of the friendliest and nicest guys in Peoria!
Always fun to see both of them!
Here’s the dining room which I hope will be full again in 2021 when Covid-19 is just a bad memory!
There’s the famous backwards Agatucci’s clock…which reminds me, it’s time to get back to the present and pick up our dinner for this evening!
Okay, back to 2021 we go!
Getting take-out from Agatucci’s is so easy. You just call and place your order (and you can pay on the phone with a credit or debit card if you like) and then you pull up in the parking lot behind the building.
Wait-staff are on duty and will bring your order right to your car as soon as they see you.
Heather brought our meal out and we had a nice conversation in the parking lot.
It turns out she has also worked at Khaki Jacks and was there when I went there for a stop on my 365 bar crawl tour. Which is wild because that’s when I first met Tony Agatucci and his family! Check out that link here!
Okay, here we are back at MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area with this week’s Saturday Night Dinner!
We’ll start dinner off with a giganzo can of Bud Light! Cheers!
Here’s the appetizer’s for this evening’s dinner!
I got a small order of the Fried Ravioli, which I’ve never had before. They look crispy and tasty!
Wow, these were so delicious!
They’re deep-fried ravioli and they come with a mini tub of Agatucci’s meat sauce.
They’re such a crispy and delicious treat, I can’t believe I’ve never ordered these before, but I will order them again!
Agatucci’s is known for their pizza, but they should also be known for their Buffalo Wings as well!
These are some of the tastiest wings in town!
Speaking of pizza, time for tonight’s main course….
An Agatucci’s pizza pie!
This is my favorite pizza in Peoria and it’s always so delicious. I’ll add a little Cholula Hot Sauce to the pie and now let’s dig in!
I ordered the shrimp pizza, which I’ve never had. I imagined it with large pieces of shrimp on top, which I thought would be kind of weird.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the shrimp is cut into tiny pieces and incorporated under the cheese.
The shrimp gives the pizza a subtle rich flavor and it mixes nicely with the tangy Agatucci’s pizza sauce and cheese.
This was a delicious Saturday night dinner from Agatucci’s!
Call in and get a take-out dinner from them and support this local restaurant in these difficult pandemic times.
