Okay, it’s time to eat the menu of another fast food restaurant and MBIP frequent commentator was half right about the destination of this tour with this guess about a week ago.
Yes, we’re going to eat the entire menu at Panda Express Chinese Kitchen! I thought this would be a little different experience after eating the McDonald’s and Arby’s menus.
Panda Express is the only Asian fast food place in Peoria and I’ve only had their food once.
So let’s go and start this Panda-Menu-Monium!
I thought we’d start off with their appetizer menu and since there’s just three, we’ll order all of them and knock this menu out of the park in the first week!
To the drive-through we go!
Here we are at Panda Express. It’s located in the same area as the Northwoods Mall. If this virus ever lets up, maybe down the road Chad Wallace can join me on this tour and we can combine it with the annual Counting of the Gumball Machines. Time will tell!
In the meantime, I lucked out as there was no one in the drive-through line and I ordered and got my food within a couple of minutes. They truly live up to the “express” part of their title!
We’re back at MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. Time to start week number one of this Panda Express menu adventure!
All three appetizers were just $6.49! Pretty inexpensive food, let’s take a look and try them out.
This trio of appetizers came wrapped up in Panda bags. Very cute!
Two tubs of sweet ‘n sour sauce were included with the order for dipping pleasure!
Here’s the appetizers unwrapped.
The crab rangoon are in the middle, but I’m not sure about which are the chicken egg roll and the vegetable spring rolls.
I also don’t get why you get two of one order and just one of the other.
Oh well, let’s dig in try these appetizers out.
First Bites
Vegetable Spring Roll: This really had no taste to it at all. It was crunchy and not horrible, but just incredibly bland.
Cream Cheese Rangoon: I had high hopes for this appetizer, but it too was tasteless and just completely bland.
Chicken Egg Roll: Just like the other two, bland and tasteless. Kind of a disappointing start here, but what are you going to do?

Panda-Menu-Monium Rating (1-4, 4 being the best, 1 the worst.)
Two pandas
These appetizers weren’t horrible, but they were really bland and tasteless and brought back memories of lyrics from local legend Dan Fogelberg:

Weekly Fortune Cookie
Panda Express gives a fortune cookie with every order, so I thought I’d share my weekly fortune with all of you.
This week:
“At this moment someone is thinking positively of you.”
Uh…maybe I’m a little paranoid living in these pandemic times, but I really don’t want someone thinking I’m positive right now, Panda Express. But thanks for the thought anyway.
