When I was doing the MBIP Year Of Pizza food tour, we had many road trips outside of Peoria and this was one of those trips.

On December 9th, 2014, Scott Turley drove the two of us to Perdue’s Grill in Tremont, Illinois and we had a wonderful pizza pie there along with beers and some tasty appetizers.

Let’s go back in time and take a look at this saucy post!

Oh Sherman…

Please set the Pizza Wayback Machine for December 9, 2014…

And there’s MBIP pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley and he was bearing a gift of imported beer! We sampled that and then we were off to Tremont.

This is a rare night-time road trip, usually we do these on a Sunday afternoon.

And through the miracle of these here interwebs, here we are at Perdue’s Grill in Tremont, Illinois.

Tremont is home of the annual Tremont Turkey Festival. They had to skip it last year due to the Covid pandemic, but this year they’re promising it will be back in June!

it’s really nice in here and there’s a couple seats at the end of the bar for us to snag and settle in.

Kyle was the friendly bartender on duty and here he is serving up an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser! Cheers!

I love the lit-up bottles behind the bar and there’s tables behind the bar for dining. They have a nice tin ceiling lit up in a blue hue from the Blue Moon neon sign hanging up there.

Appetizers are served!

We got their homemade onion rings and pork kabobs.

The onion rings were light, flaky and so delicious and I loved the dipping sauce they served with them.

They had a nice selection of hot sauces for the pizza pie.

And speaking of pizza, here it is, served up with a lovely smile by Rachael!

12. pop_3-27-21.jpg

We got a half and half pizza pie on this trip.

Half is the Supreme and the other half is BBQ chicken. It’s a beautiful looking pizza pie!

The Supreme side had fresh pepperoni, sausage, onion, green peppers and black olives. The sauce had a nice spicy zip to it and the crust was thin and crunchy, just the way I like it!

The BBQ chicken was a nice pizza to counter the Supreme. Fairly simple with ingredients of cheese, chunks of chicken, onion and a BBQ sauce. It was really tangy and tasty.
