Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Take-Out, starring this week’s host, Bone’s and featuring special guests, Ashley and Kate.
Now, please welcome tonight’s host from Keller Station, Bone’s!
I got a Saturday night take-out dinner from Bones last September, shortly after they opened up. I got a bacon cheeseburger dinner and I noticed they had hot dogs on the menu.
Well today is Memorial Day and you have to eat hot dogs over the Memorial Day weekend, it’s just the rules, so I thought I’d return and try a couple of their hot dogs.
Let’s go in and see what’s happening on my return visit to Bone’s.
I placed my holiday hot dog meal order online and as usual I’m early. They were still working on the order back in the kitchen, so I took some time to take photos of the restaurant.
The floor to ceiling windows give the place a nice open feeling and there’s tables and comfortable seating in the back.
I love the rustic wooden ceiling in here.
There’s the menus on the front wall and there’s sweet treats up on the counter.
Deja vu, just like last time, Ashley and Kate serve up our to-go bags. Great to see both of them again!
Here we are back at MBIP World Headquarters dining area.
We’ll start off with a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
Here’s our Saturday night Memorial Day hot dog meal! I got an order of French fries, a coney dog and a bacon cheese dog.
Let’s dig in to this holiday feast!
The French fries look fantastic!
I got three dipping sauces for them. From the left there’s their homemade fry sauce, melted cheese sauce and sweet and smoky BBQ sauce.
I poured all three sauces on the fries and it kind of looked like edible abstract art!
The fries were crispy and delicious and the sauces complimented them nicely. This was a tasty start to this magical holiday meal!
Now on to the hot dog portion of the meal. I got two different styles of hot dogs and the first one is a bacon cheese dog.
It looks fabulous, let’s take a bite.
This is one tasty hot dog! The hot dog itself is a high quality dog and grilled to perfection. There’s smoky bacon underneath and a layer of melted cheddar cheese under the bacon.
There’s layers of delicious flavors and the New England style bun takes it over the top. It’s buttered, toasted and bakery fresh!
I also got the coney dog and it’s topped with their homemade coney sauce, chopped onions and melted cheddar cheese.
Man bites dog, part two, the search for coney dog flavor!
Wow, this is a spectacular coney dog!
As I said before, these are tasty and high quality hot dogs and the coney dog sauce is savory and flavorful. The melted cheddar cheese and chopped onions add nice flavor levels to the mix.
And I have to mention once more that these toasted and buttered New England rolls send these hot dogs over the moon!
For dessert I got a scoop of their homemade chocolate frozen custard.
I shmooshed it up to get it nice and melty and it was a sweet and delicious ending to this wonderful Memorial Day dinner!
You’re welcome.
