For this week’s throwback Saturday night post, we’re going back to March of 2013 and an unlikely cheeseburger dinner at The Fish House of all places!
Oh Sherman…
Please set the Wayback Machine for March 25, 2013 and…
Whoomp, here we are at The Fish House! This is one of Peoria’s most beloved restaurants. This place has been standing tall here since 1976.
Let’s go inside and start this Saturday night!
I love the dark bar in here, let’s grab a seat and get settled in.
Here’s veteran Fish House bartender Paul serving up an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser.
The antique cash register and the ship on the wall are just two of my favorite things in here.
Okay, it looks like it’s just about time for our Saturday night dinner!
There it is in all its Saturday night glory!
Back then I was trying to eat a cheeseburger every Saturday night. The Fish House doesn’t have a cheeseburger on the menu, but the owner, Justin, made this cheeseburger dinner especially for me.
It looks amazing!
The Fish House are known for their lighter than air dinner rolls and Justin used a dinner roll as the bun to house this delicious cheeseburger in.
The burger was tender and juicy and topped off with melted cheddar cheese. And the bun made out of the roll made for an absolutely heavenly cheeseburger!
After dinner, Justin, who owns the Fish House and made this exquisite cheeseburger dinner came out to the bar and it was great to meet him and we had some nice conversation and a beer together.
