Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday night starring this week’s host, The Fry Spot and featuring special guest stars, Matt and Madeline.
Now, please welcome this week’s host, The Fry Spot!
Here we are at The Fry Spot on Prospect Road. This is a fairly new restaurant and it recently got a write-up in the PJ Star by Nick Vlahos.
It specializes in main courses with a French Fry base and topped with your choice of lobster, chicken, fish, bbq bacon and other tasty toppings.
Let’s go in and check it out!
I love what they’ve done in here! The atmosphere is bright and friendly and the art on the walls is cool.
I went up to the counter and Alacion took my order and posed for the MBIP Camera!
This is Jeremy, who’s the owner of The Fry Spot along with his wife, Cierra. They had a similarly styled restaurant in Bakersfield, California and decided to try the concept out here in Peoria.
Jeremy said that people have loved the unique menu and concept since they opened up shop a couple of months ago.
Here’s the special guest stars of the evening, my friends Matt and Madeline.
We last saw them when we had dinner together in 2019 at WeaverRidge and it’s great to see both of them and catch up on things!
We compared notes as to how we got through the pandemic of 2020!
As I mentioned earlier, I love the art on the walls in here, it gives the place a unique and upbeat look. The artwork was done by local artist, Jaton Sayles.
There’s more art and photography on the side and back walls as well, very cool!
This is a framed shot of downtown Peoria.
Here’s a shot from the back of the restaurant.
I got back to our table just as Jeremy was serving up our main courses!
Matt got the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and Madeline got the Buffalo Chicken Fry dish. They also got a lemonade shake-up.
I got the Buffalo Shrimp Fry and it was amazing! This is such a unique and tasty dish. You can get the shrimp grilled or fried and I went with the fried shrimp.
The shrimp was juicy and succulent and the fries were hand-cut, crispy and very tasty. The house-made sauces added a nice flavor and zing to the dish.
You should definitely check this place out, this is really a new and unique flavor sensation for Peoria!
Matt and Madeline said their dinner’s were fantastic.
I’ll definitely be coming back to try some of the other selections here.
It was a huge plate of food, but as you can see, I pretty much cleaned the plate!
Thanks to Matt and Madeline for joining me for dinner, it was great to see them and catch up on things. We’re going out again in August, so stay tuned for that!
