If you mixed Siskel & Ebert, two canisters of laughing gas, three and a half cases of beer and a ragged, sticky copy of Juggs magazine, you’d have something similar to the Couch Pilots Podcast!
The two Couch Pilots are Blake Clayton and Jason Tauscher and they have one of the most unique podcasts on these here interwebs that’s been running weekly since 2015.
There’s a new show every Monday with fun guests, interviews, lots of jokes and laughter, but the hook that puts them in an airport hangar of their very own is that every week they critique and review a TV pilot that was made, but never picked up for an actual series.
The show is a ton of fun with large doses of improv humor, pop culture and of course TV trivia and facts. Oh and a mention or three of Juggs magazine…at least when I’m a guest.
I’m going to be a guest on two upcoming episodes that we’re recording tonight, so let’s get rolling! I think our ride is waiting outside…

Every Picture Tells A Story - Part One
Blake gave me a tour of the studio where they record the weekly episodes.
Blake has been active in the podcast world since 2007 when he hosted the show, IBWIP and in 2013, Jason started to appear on that podcast which led to them starting Couch Pilots back in 2015.
The Studio is filled with autographed photos, memorabilia, artifacts and a copy of a vintage edition of Circus magazine with a shirtless John Oates on the cover.
I was hoping for a copy of Juggs magazine in here, but what are you going to do?

For the first show we talked about a variety of subjects including Blake’s penis, the Peoria Journal Star, chicks with dicks and the TV pilot, Microcops.
I only made it through the first half hour of this pilot, if you can watch the whole thing, you’re a better person than me!
Blake and Jason have interviewed and have had contact with lots of A-List names on the podcast through the years including: Bill Scheft, Reuben Leder, Kerry Lenhart, Vic Berger, Dave Paige, Marcus Monroe, Mark Derwin, Judd Apatow, Yeardley Smith and Harry Shearer.

We had additional fun discussing this show that was hosted by Joel Hodgson from Mystery Science Theater 3000 and a cast of many comedic actors that would go on and hit the big-time. They just wouldn’t do it with this TV pilot!
