Sadly, Ronnie Spector died last week on January 12th, 2022. She was the lead singer for the legendary vocal group, The Ronettes and she was also known for being the long-suffering wife of record producer, Phil Spector.
The Ronettes were a ground-breaking vocal group and she later had a hit with Eddie Money on his song, “Take Me Home Tonight.”
I remember watching The Ronettes on The Ed Sullivan Show as a kid and having my first childhood crush on Ronnie Spector. She was very pretty and she looked so exotic and beautiful. And her voice was heavenly!
Below are six links to online articles about Ronnie Spector and a video with her talking about how her musical career started with The Ronettes dancing at The Peppermint Lounge.
