This week we’re going to sample some pizza pie slices from the Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe.
So let’s head to downtown Peoria and start this week’s saucy and cheesy journey!
Here we are at the Rhythm Kitchen Music Cafe located in the Contemporary Arts Center Building on Water Street in downtown Peoria.
I love the festive store-front to the restaurant!
We’re meeting two special guest stars this evening, but as usual, I’m early, so I thought I’d have a beer at the bar.
There’s Kelly serving a beer up behind the bar and while you can’t see it, I’m sure that’s a pretty smile she’s got on behind her mask.
Kelly has worked here for eleven years, so she’s a Rhythm Kitchen veteran!

Rhythm Kitchen Artist Of The Month: Neil Kenner
I love that the Rhythm Kitchen spotlights local artists every month.
This month Neil Kenner is the featured artist for January.
You should go and check out his work on display this month at Rhythm Kitchen.
Speaking of artwork, I’m always happy to see my brother Jim’s artwork on display in the back room here at Rhythm Kitchen.
Thanks to Ron Roling for making that happen!
Here’s the dining room and a couple of the chandeliers made up of booze bottles, which are really cool and add to the festive New Orleans decor in here.
Instruments also hang from the ceiling and there’s this evening’s menu with the specials listed.
The kitchen is tucked away in the back corner of the restaurant and there’s the owner Julie and Chef Jason hard at work putting tonight’s dishes together.
Great to see both of them!
Okay, we’ve now settled in to a table as our two special guest stars have arrived for dinner.
There’s Jon and Mae who were also guests when we sampled the pizza at Rizzi’s a few week’s ago.
Always wonderful to hang out with both of them!
Our dinners have arrived at our table. Mae got an order of mashed potatoes and Jon got a skillet egg dinner.
I got a half of a pizza and while cheese pizza isn’t listed on the menu, they will make it if you special order it.
It looks very tasty!
It’s a tasty and unique pizza and I enjoyed it. My only critique is the the crust isn’t as crispy as I usually like it, but it was a delicious pizza in spite of that.
It had a unique flavor that was delicious and I highly recommend it.
All the desserts here are made from scratch on the premises and this pecan pie was out of the world tasty!
It was served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and it was decadent and oh-so downright delicious!
Kelly took this somewhat fuzzy-wuzzy photo of the three of us.
Thanks to Mae and Jon for joining me for tonight’s dinner. It was great to see them as always!

Pizza Rating
They have a unique style of pizza here and if you want a cheese pizza, they’ll make an off-menu pie for you.
I’ll give them a 7.8 rating on their pizza pie!
