Way back in 2014, I went to visit Santa Claus at the Northwoods Mall and that started a yearly tradition that came crashing to a halt in 2020, when everything went sideways with Covid 19!
Last year’s visit didn’t happen either, but I looked at their website and it says Santa is back and you don’t even need a reservation to see him!
Could 2022 be the magical year that we re-start the is magical tradition?
Let’s head to Northwoods Mall and find out.
Here we are at the Northwoods Mall, will we see Santa for the first time in two years?
Time will tell, let’s go inside and find out!
Of course when I see the gumball machines I always have a Chad Wallace flashback!
Hey Chad, we need to set a date in January for the annual gumball countdown! I need to start saving up quarters!
So far, no sign of Santa, let go upstairs and take a look down at the center court, that’s where he usually is.
Yep, there’s Santa in his village directly below!
Time to spring into holiday action!
I thought I’d bring him some treats from Jane’s Sweet Addictions. It used to be located up here on the top level, but I see it’s moved.
It’s now on the lower level in the center court, okay, let’s go down and check it out!
Sadly, The Nut House, which was a wonderful Peoria business closed this year, but owner Janey Scott has kept the spirit alive here at the mall with Jane’s Sweet Addictions.
They sell the same tasty savory and sweet roasted nuts, popcorn, homemae fudge and candy and all the treats that were housed in the Nut House. I got Santa a sleeve of roasted nuts and some homemade fudge and peppermint candy as a holiday treat.
I’m sad that The Nut House is closed, but glad that Janey has kept the memory alive with Jane’s Sweet Addictions at the Northwoods Mall!
I’m trying to find the entrance and ended up at the exit!
Kind of a Spinal Tap moment here at Santa’s Village. Hello, Cleveland!
Okay, here’s the grand entrance!
Everyone working here was real nice and they said they’d be happy to snap a few photos of Santa and I!
Here I am presenting Santa with his sweet and savory gifts and he was pleasantly surprised I had a gift for him!
I told him this made up for me being a bad boy for most of the year!
Santa loved the gifts and said he’d share them with his helpful staff.
If you have children that would like to have a fun Santa experience, here’s the information about visiting Santa at the Northwoods Mall.
I had a ton of fun and thanks to Santa and his helpers for a fantastic Christmas visit!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays with love from Santa and Yours Fooly!
(P.S. Thanks to Amber for the Xmas shirt!)
