After I posted the debut grilling post last week, loyal commenter, Dan2, left this comment:
Ha ha ha! Well, he does have a valid point! After months of eating chicken sandwiches, I think we’ve all seen enough chicken for a while!
So, this week we’re staying far away from that clucking bird and today we’re going to prepare a Saucy Asian Pork Chop with a side dish of Kung Pao Noodles!
Okay, it’s that time of the week…let’s cook.
Here’s the ingredients for this week’s Asian Pork Chop Grilled Meal.
From left: Soy Sauce, Chili Oil, Korean Chili Sauce, Lemon Juice, Peanut Satay Sauce, Sriracha Sauce and Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce.
And front and center is the star of this meal, a Pork Chop. Ta-da!
We’re going to make a marinade to soak and tenderize the pork chop and for that we’ll be mixing the Soy Sauce, Lemon Juice, Sriracha Sauce and the Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce.
We’ve sunk the pork chop into the mixed up marinade and it’ll soak and tenderize in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
We’re also making a sauce for the pork chop and noodles and that consists of the Korean Chili Sauce, the Peanut Satay Sauce, Chili Oil, Minced Onions and Soy Sauce.
I mixed equal parts of these together and we’ll let them sit in the fridge next to the marinating pork chop.
Okay, that’s all for now, we’ll see you all in about 24 hours!
Okay, it’s the next day and we’re back at it!
I’ve pre-heated the oven to 400 degrees and we’ll bake the pork chop for about 15 minutes to really seal in the flavors from that Asian marinade sauce.
While the pork chop is baking, we’ll pre-heat the grill to 400 degrees.
The pork chop is ready to come out of the oven and we’ve got it over at the grill station.
I also popped the sauce into the oven to heat it up.
We’ll take the pork chop out of the marinade pan and plop it onto the heated up grill and put the cover down.
While the chop is cooking on the grill, we’ll make the Kung Pao Noodles.
This is a pretty simple operation, you just put the noodles in the bottom of the box, cover them with a sesame sauce, close the lid and put it into the microwave for two minutes.
I’ve flipped the pork chop several times on the grill and as you can see, it’s seared up nicely out here and it smells smoky and delicious!
The noodles are done and it’s time to plate up this week’s grilled treat!
There’e this week’s meal with a freshly opened can of Miller Lite.
But wait, we still have to add the Asian-flavored sauce to the meal.
I sauced up the pork chop and the noodles and it looks and smells heavenly!
Let’s dig in!
The pork chop is tender, juicy and so flavorful. The meat has the marinade flavors seasoning it and the sauce adds so may layers of flavor.
There’s Asian spice from the Korean Chili and Soy Sauce and the Satay Peanut Sauce adds a nutty richness to the mix. The sauce really added flavor to the noodles as well and this was a delicious and tasty Asian-flavored meal!
