Please Grill Me - This Week: A Trifecta Of Wieners From Raber Packing Co.

by MBIP

This week I visited the new Raber Packing Co. and when I was leaving, I asked Buddy Raber what he would suggest for me to grill this week.

Well he not only had some great suggestions, he gave me two packs of Raber Hot Dogs and one pack of Spicy Polish Sausage and that was very generous of him.

I’m dying to throw this trifecta of wieners on the grill so…let’s cook.

There’s the trifecta of wieners for today’s grilling session.

Buddy gave me a pack of Raber Old Fashion Wieners, Raber Franks With Cheese and Raber Super Hot Polish Sausage.

I thought I’d pair the wieners up with three different kinds of potato chips for a side dish. The potato chip trio includes, Jalapeno, Classic and Barbecue.

We’ll pre-heat the MBIP Grill up to 400 degrees.

Buddy told me that the wieners are all pre-cooked, so all you have to do is warm them up. I’ve set the grill on the highest cooking level so they’ll warm up quickly and get a nice grilled char on them.

I thought we’d start off with the Raber Old Fashioned Wieners. Buddy told me that no one makes wieners like these anymore and I’m anxious to try them.

There’s two on the grill and while those cook on the grill…

We’ll get the next two wieners out to be roasted. We’re moving fast and furious today!

Okay, the Old Fashioned Wieners are done and while we get ready to sample them, we’ll throw the Raber Franks With Cheese on the MBIP grill.

Before we go any further, let’s open up a can of Budweiser to officially start this afternoon of grilling a trifecta of wieners!

Cheers!

We’re going to be sampling these wieners in their purest form today. No buns, no relish, onions or fancy condiments so we can truly get the full taste of these wieners in the truest sense.

The only condiment we’re adding is French’s Classic Yellow Mustard be because you have to have mustard on wieners, it’s just the rules.

Okay, time to start sampling this collection of grilled wieners and potato chips!

I’ve cut the wieners up and since these are Old Fashion Wieners it only made sense to pair them up with the classic potato chips.

The potato chips are crisp and they do have a nice classic taste to them. So far, so good, now onto the grilled wieners!

I’ve sliced the wieners up and adorned them with fancy toothpicks to slide them through the mustard pool.

They look fantastic and they’re like biting into the past! These wieners definitely have an old-fashioned flavor and the casing is crispy and inside there’s a savory and smoky flavor.

We’re off to a fabulous and flavorful start!

We’ll unpack the Super Hot Polish Sausage and it looks like the Franks With Cheese are all ready to take off the grill.

The timing is perfect and I love it!

I paired the Franks With Cheese up with the barbecue potato chips and I love these chips!

They have a nice tangy and spicy flavor with a little bit of underlying sweetness, they’re delicious!

The Franks With Cheese look divine! They’re stuffed with cheddar cheese and I can’t wait to taste these.

Michael Euteneuer commented on yesterday’s facecrack post that he loved those, so this sampling is dedicated to you, Michael!

Wow, they are so good! The cheese adds a nice richness to the savory hot dog and it’s a delightful dog!

Now on to the Polish Sausage!

Wow, the Super Hot Polish Sausages look absolutely fabulous!

I paired them up with the Jalapeno Potato Chips and I have to confess that the chips weren’t that great.

They had a strange flavor and kind of a gasoline after-taste. Let’s just keep moving along here.

I’ve cut the Polish Sausage up and dragged a chunk through the mustard puddle and oh my god are these tasty and delicious!

The outer casing has a nice crispy crunch and inside the Polish Sausage is so spicy and savory and bursting with flavor!

Thanks again to Buddy Raber for supplying the trifecta of wieners for today’s Please Grill Me post, they were a pure delight!
