I just realized last week, I haven’t made a trip to Peoria Animal Protection Services or PCAPS as they’re also known for a long time.
I haven’t been there since 2017! I went that year and then in 2018 and 2019 I was busy with Marty Monologues shows and that chewed into time here at the blog and then Covid hit and well, we all know what happened then!
Happily things have opened back up and today we’re going to make an overdue trip to PCAPS and talk to the animals!
Well, okay, I’m just going to take pictures of the animals, what do you think I’m Doctor Dolittle over here? Sheesh! Okay, let’s go!
Here we are at Peoria County Animal Protection Services, A.K.A. PCAPS on Perry Street.
The office is just ahead as the sign says.
You just follow the blue doggie foot prints right up ot the front. door.
Let’s go in and begin our visit.
As you enter there’s the office/administrative area to the right and over to the left is a waiting area.
Check out this area over here. They have all kinds of supplies for your newly adopted dog including, leashes, collars and fun doggie bowls.
You can also help support PCAPS by buying a 2023 Pawprints Calendar for just five bucks!
This is Meghan, who’s PCAPS Shelter Service Supervisor and she’s going to give us a little tour and show us some of the adoptable animals in here.
This room is a lounge room for cats and kittens. Let’s go take a look at some of these kitty cats that are relaxing in here.
All of these cute cats are thinking, “Go away you strange picture-taking human! We’re trying to relax over here!”
This is a film of a bird swimming in a bird bath for the kitty’s amusement. This really cracked me up!
This room is a playroom for the kittens and cats and here’s Meghan and Karen playing with two cute kitty cats on the floor.
As they were engaging the cats in play, Meghan told me to look up at the ceiling…
Wow, check out the cat up in the rafters!
I yelled out to him and he looked over at me kind of like a feline Travis Bickle!
This guy was on ground level and happy to get his photo taken!
Now Meghan’s leading the way to where the dogs live till they get adopted.
I took a bunch of photos but a lot of them didn’t turn out due to the glass in the front.
Here’s a trio of dogs that would be thrilled to be adopted by you! Check out the alien eyes on the last two, that’s from the glass and the flash on my camera!
I hope someone reading this goes and adopts this guy (or girl, I’m not sure!) That face just shreds me!
If you do adopt him (or her), let me know if you’d like to feature him (or her) on the blog in his (or her) new forever home!
I have a feeling he (or she) would be the most loving and grateful pet ever!
Meghan brought some of the dogs out for some photos of them in play!
All the dogs were incredibly nice, well-behaved and totally adoptable!
Here’s Amanda with a loveable and playful pooch!
Thanks to Amanda for posing for the photo and to Meghan for the tour!
It was a lot of fun and I hope all of these beautiful animals get adopted soon into loving homes.
