Live, from Peoria, it’s Sunday Afternoon Brunch starring, Le Peep, with special guest star, Rilind.
Now please welcome, on this rare Sunday afternoon outing, this week’s host, Le Peep!
You may wonder why there’s not a Saturday night post today, well here’s what happened.
I now live within walking distance to the Fish House. I haven’t been there for a while and thought it would be easy to just walk over, have a couple beers and my Saturday night dinner and then walk back home.
I had a couple pre-dinner beers at home and walked over around 8:15pm and the place was packed! The restaurant and bar were completely full. I thought it might be kind of slow since the holidays are all over and people might be taking it easy, but that wasn’t the case. On weekends the Fish House is open till 10pm, so I decided to walk back home and come back a little before 9pm and I was certain there’d be a seat at the bar. Since I was dining alone, that’s where I wanted to sit.
So I go back around 9pm and the place is still jammed, not a seat at the bar to be had and it didn’t look like anyone was going anywhere.
I didn’t want to be the jackass that comes into a restaurant that closes at 10pm and orders a meal at 9:30pm, so I had to think of an alternative plan.
As I said, I had a couple beers, so I couldn’t drive and I didn’t feel like messing with Uber or a cab, so I decided to walk across the street and go to Chili’s. By now I’m starvin’ like you know who, so I went to Chili’s but there weren’t many people in there and I didn’t feel like doing a post from there. Chili’s on a Saturday night is a little depressing, it kind of reminds me of an airport bar for some reason!
While eating my dinner, I decided I could go out for Sunday brunch and that’s how I ended up at…
Le Peep at around 12:30pm on an early Sunday afternoon. Le Peep closed after Covid hit and there were rumors it was gone for good.
But then it got sold and now it’s open again! Let’s go inside and start this week’s Sunday brunch post!
Looking nice in here and there’s a decent crowd for Sunday bunch. The owner saw me snap this photo and came up and said hi. His name is Rilind and he owns Le Peep with his wife Laya. He said business has been good and welcomed me to the newly-owned Le Peep.
Okay, let’s go get a Le Seat!
Since I’m dining alone, I’ll sit at the coffee bar, no need to take up a whole table! Okay, I placed my order and…
Immediately iced tea and water were put in front of me. Nice attentive service in here!
There’s a jelly basket on the counter and it’s all Smucker’s in it! No off brands at Le Peep!
Across from the bar is a couple tables that look out at the parking lot.
There’s three dining areas in here, one is over there, another is in that room and there’s a dining area near the front door.
I love the stained glass and there’s the board for flavors and specials of the day.
Meanwhile, back at the coffee bar…
Syrup has arrived, brunch can’t be far behind…
Whoomp, there it is! I got French Toast with a side of bacon. It looks heavenly! Let’s dig in!
The bacon was so crispy and delicious! Mmmm…bacon!
I haven’t had French Toast in years and this looks nothing short of spectacular! Let’s add some syrup and melt that butter…
Wow, this is a sweet and luscious treat! This is maybe the best French Toast I’ve ever had!
And now it’s all gone! I may have to skip Saturday night dinner more often! Thanks to everyone at Le Peep for an amazing Sunday brunch!
