Back in 2019, we ran a post on the longest-running tobacco shop in Peoria, Smoking Pleasure By Work. Their last location was downtown in the Twin Towers. They closed in the summer of 2020 when the owner, Mary Ann Work, decided to retire.
About a year later, Meet Me On Madison moved in and started serving up breakfast and lunch out of this space and I’ve been meaning to stop by and try it out.
I knew that I wanted to do my cookie of the month post on Halloween and the other day I saw this post on facecrack:
Now I want a Mummy Cookie! To the MBIP Mobile we go!
Okay, we’re in downtown Peoria at the Twin Towers Plaza. There’s the outside sign for Meet Me On Madison, let’s go through the doors and start this month’s cookie adventure!
As soon as you walk in the doors, Meet Me On Madison is directly to your left. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday, 8am to 2pm. We’re within that time frame, so let’s go in and see what’s happening!
I walked in and approached the counter and met Amy who owns the place and flashed a pretty smile for the MBIP Camera. I love it when that happens! She told me to feel free to take some photos in here, so let’s snap away!
They have a nice menu here with lots of breakfast selections, tasty sounding sandwiches, a nice coffee menu and salads. I’ll have to stop in here for lunch soon!
Oh my gourd!
There’s a side room over here that has a nice relaxing vibe to it.
Meanwhile, back at the front bakery case I not only got the Mummy Cookie, but a whole box of Halloween baked treats!
I took a couple shots of Meet Me On Madison on my way out.
Here we are back at the MBIP World Headquarters Dining Area. I plated the Halloween baked treats up in a festive plate decoration.
There’s frosted pretzels, pumpkin cookies and I have no idea what this green cookie is. Is it a one-eyed green monster? I can’t quite figure it out, so let’s just move along here!
The Mummy Cookie was sweet and delicious! A fantastic cookie for this seventh sweet month of eating a cookie every 30 days or so!
This thing, however is giving me the creeps! I’ll put it in a drawer and save it for an unlucky trick or treater that has the misfortune of knocking on my door for a treat!
Happy Halloween everyone!
