It looks like it’s that time of the month…
Whoops-a-doozy, who’s that knocking at the door…
It’s Brenda Vaccaro…oh no, it’s not that time of the month and it’s not even really you, it’s just some cheesay-ass magazine ad. Sheesh!
Let’s try this again…It’s that time of month, let’s open up the door and begin this month’s…
Scott Turley Road Trip Post!
And there he is, the MBIP pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley! And he’s got yet another hilarious t-shirt on!
Scott brought a treat with him, some of his homemade cheddar popcorn for a pre-road trip treat!
This is some tasty and delicious popcorn, we need to turn Adam Duvall on to this stuff!
There’s Scott behind the wheel and our destination today is Perdue’s Grill in Tremont, Illinois.
We tried to go here back in April, but they were closing early on that day. Let’s see if we have better luck this month!
Here we are at Perdue’s Grill, as you can see they have a nice outside dining area with picnic tables and fancy umbrellas.
But we’re going to eat inside and there’s Scott leading the way inside, the door’s are open, let’s hope we’ll have better luck than last time!
Okay, this is more like it! There’s a big crowd in here and the bar is all filled up. Luckily we found a table in the back opposite the bar.
If you look real close you can see Scott already seated back there!
Harley was our pretty and friendly waitress and she brought us beers and took our luncheon order.
Now time for me to abandon Scott and take some photos in here, hey, it’s what I do!
The kitchen is in the back and I love the elegant tin ceiling in here.
There’s a quintet of beers on tap in the middle of the bar and a lone Budweiser tap at the end of the bar.
There’s also a nice inventory of canned and bottled beers in this cooler and there’s the daily drink and dinner specials on this chalkboard on the wall.
Another dining room is located beyond this door over here and it’s filled up too, this is quite an impressive Sunday afternoon crowd in here!
Gaming machines are located in this third room at Perdue’s for all of you gamblers out there!
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our lunch is starting to arrive!
We decided to split two appetizers for lunch and first up is an order of their homemade onion rings.
These are some of the best and tastiest onion rings I’ve ever had. They’re light, flaky and perfectly seasoned. The chipotle sauce they serve with them compliments them perfectly!
Scott’s an onion ring aficionado and he gave them a high rating and agreed that they are some of the best onion rings he’s ever had!
We followed the onion rings with an order of PB & J chicken wings. That’s right, peanut butter and jelly wings!
That sounds like a strange combination but they were so uniquely tasty and delicious. The wings were slathered in a tasty peanut butter sauce and they were served with a sweet jelly dipping sauce.
And there’s the patent-pending Scott Turley bite as he digs into a wing!
What a tasty and fun lunch!
Tim Perdue is the owner and operator of Perdue’s and he came over to say hi.
He said business has been great and thanked us for stopping by. We thanked him for a fun afternoon at Perdue’s Grill in Tremont, Illinois!
And thanks to Scott for driving and hanging out, see you in a month for another Scott Turley Road Trip!
