Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday night, starring this week’s host, Richard’s on University and featuring special guest stars, Lucas and Stephanie!
Now please welcome this week’s host, Richard’s on University!
Richard’s used to be on Main Street but now it’s been reborn here on University Street, hence the new name, Richard’s on University.
You can read the whole story by clicking here.
There’s a shot of the front window, now let’s walk though the door and let our Saturday night begin!
You order up at this front counter and there’s a menu to peruse from and choose your meal selections.
Here’s Lucas and Stephanie behind the counter.
Lucas is the head chef and operations manager here at Richard’s on University. I thought Stephanie looked familiar and it turns out we used to be neighbors a few years ago when I lived in a different apartment complex.
Lucas said that they’ve been donig a steady business in here and that they are waiting for the liquor license to kick in and then they’ll have beer and drinks available. He said this should happen in a week or so, check their facecrack page for updates!
Great to see and chat with both of them! They took my order and now we’ll get settled in and of course take a few photos of the place.
As you can see, it’s a long “railroad space” in here, nice and cozy!
Tables line the walls and I chose this one to have my Saturday night feast at.
I went to the back and took a photo from there.
Here’s my view from where I’m seated. As you can see, they have a big-screen TV in here.
Okay, Saturday night dinner begins!
I started off my meal with an order of corn fritters. They’re bite-sized fritters with syrup and dusted with powdered sugar. Dinner is off to a sweet and delicious start!
A ceiling fan spins overhead.
And then suddenly…the main course arrives!
I got the Ribeye Steak Sandwich with a side order of macaroni and cheese. It looks fabulous!
The mac and cheese was rich, creamy and delicious!
Here’s the star of tonight’s dinner, the Ribeye Steak Sandwich. Let’s take a look under the bun!
Wow, this was a huge slice of tender and juicy Ribeye steak, somthered with grilled onions on a buttery toasted hoagie roll.
What a delicious Saturday night treat!
Lucas told me that the owners of Richard’s also purchased the neighboring building which was formerly in business as Casa Amigos. A lot of us remember this as the original Pepe Taco building.
He said that it’s going to be opening up as Bid Juan’s in about a month. Stay tuned as I’ll be doing a blog on that when it opens up!
Have a great week, everyone!
