It’s been a while since I did a blog from W.E. Sullivan’s in Peoria Heights, so I thought I’d go and have lunch there and of course take a bunch of photos.
And we have a special luncheon guest, so let’s go get lunch!
Here we are at W.E. Sullivan’s located on “restaurant row” here on Prospect Avenue in Peoria Heights.
Let’s go in and begin this week’s luncheon adventure!
They ask you to wait to be seated, so I waited for about three seconds and then…
Mirm magically appeared to take me to my table. She’s looking pretty and it was great to see her again!
As we head to our table, I see a familiar face over there…
It’s this week’s special luncheon guest star, Jerry Kolb!
Jerry’s been busy bringing live music and promoting it here in Peoria. He recently produced a live show at 3300 Event Center with The Accidentals. The show was a fundraiser for the Blue Ridge Community Farm and it was a wonderful evening of music.
Speaking of the Blue Ridge Community Farm, there’s going to be a whole summer of music out there, so follow their facecrack page to keep up to date with that.
Great to see Jerry again!
Zoie was our friendly waitress with a beautiful smile. She took our lunch order and now I’m going to abandon Jerry to take some pictures here in W.E. Sullivan’s.
Here’s the impressive wooden bar at the front of W.E. Sullivan’s.
Communal tables are lined up opposite of the bar and tables for two are next to those.
There’s the Sullivan’s mirror at the end of the room and an Irish prayer below that. Wow, they’ve been open over seven years now, as I always say, fun flies when you’re having time!
W.E. Sullivan’s is owned and operated by Lauren and Billy Blasek.
Gaming machines are tucked away discreetly in this corner over here. I love the vintage “Sullivan’s” sign hanging on the wall here.
Donna and Megan were enjoying lunch and Megan told me she reads MBIP which is always nice to hear. Follow Megan on facecrack by clicking here.
They were enjoying two of the flatbread selections: The New Harvest and the Mango Dynamite. Those look delicious!
This room can be reserved for private parties, there’s tables, a TV, a fireplace and a whole wall of games to enjoy back here!
Back in the room where we’re having lunch, there’s stained glass windows and a full bar. And speaking of lunch…
It is now being served!
Jerry got the daily soup special, the Sweet Potato Curry soup and I got the Asian Steak Salad.
Jerry raved about the soup and said it was tasty and had just the right amount of spice to it.
My Asian Steak Salad was out-of-this-world delicious! It consisted of strips of Korean BBQ marinated ribeye steak on spring greens with a honey, ginger balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
It was tossed with water chestnuts, baby corn, green onions and crispy wonton strips. What a tasty luncheon treat!
Thanks to Mirm and Zoie and everyone at W.E. Sullivan’s for the wonderful service and the great lunch. And thanks to Jerry for being our luncheon guest of honor this week, great to see him and catch up on things!
We’ll see you all tomorrow!
