3300 Event Center opened its doors in 2021 and they’ve been going full throttle ever since. If you follow this blog (and if you don’t, what the hell is wrong with you?) you’ve seen some of the wonderful concerts I’ve seen there in the last two years.
Well, last week I saw quite a memorable show starring singer/songwriter Heather Maloney and she was accompanied by the duo High Tea.
This was an unbelievably entertaining evening and of course I’ve got the photos below to prove it.
Here we are at 3300 Event Center the place formerly known as The Second Chance decades ago.
As I enter I immediately see some familiar and friendly faces…
There’s Sarah, Jerry and Jenn!
Sarah and Jenn are working the show and Jerry is the promoter who made this show happen.
Jerry also is a big part of the Blue Ridge Community Farm who’s Fall Concert Series is starting up in a couple of months. Check that out by clicking here.
Here’s Brian, who’s a co-owner here at the 3300 Event Center along with Tricia Buskirk.
The stupid MBIP Camera kind of fuzzed out this photo, but there’s another photo of Brian coming up, so keep on scrolling!
I love the Second Chance stained glass up in the ceiling.
There’s the bar with a more clear picture of Brian in the area that was once O’Leary’s and the dining area!
I got to the show super early to grab the front and center table to get good photos of the show.
There’s my table! Woo hoo!
Of course I had to travel up the steps for the obligatory photo of the stage from the upstairs of the venue!
I ran into Laura who’s the owner of Picket Fence and the aforementioned Blue Ridge Community Farm along with her husband, Jim. They were featured on the blog in September of 2021.
Okay, people have now filled up the tables and it’s just about showtime!
Jerry was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and he introduced the opening act, High Tea.
High Tea are Isabella DeHerdt and Isaac Eliot who bill themselves as an indie folk duo who play a concoction of old blues and pop. They’re a fantastic duo who play amazing original music.
After high Tea’s fantastic opening, Jerry brought on the headliner of the evening, Heather Maloney.
High Tea stayed on stage and were the accompanying act for Heather.
Heather is a stellar singer and songwriter and put on such a fantastic and entertaining show. In addition to her wonderful and original songs, she also entertained the crowd with stories about each song.
At one point High Tea left the stage and Heather did a wonderful version of Joni Mitchell’s song, Woodtock.
This was such a wonderful evening of stories, songs and fun!
After a brief interlude, Heather and High Tea came back onstage for an acapella encore.
What a fantastic show!
Check out Heather on her YouTube channel here and click here for High Tea’s YouTube channel.
After the show I got in line at the merch table and ran back into Sarah who was with our friend, Jaci!
Jenn took a photo of me with Heather, Isaac and Isabella.
Wonderful to meet them and thanks for a fun and entertaining evening at 3300 Event Center!
