Haddad’s Market is a legendary Peoria grocery store that’s been in business in various locations here in Peoria since 1919. They’ve been in their current location since 2011.
I haven’t been there for a while, but the last time I went they had a nice bakery, so I thought this would be a good destination for this month’s cookie.
So let’s make tracks to West Peoria and get this month’s much anticipated cookie!
Here we are at Haddad’s Market in West Peoria, let’s go in and find this month’s sweet cookie treat!
I went to the back where I remembered the bakery used to be, but it’s a delicatessen now. Let’s see if they have cookies anywhere back here.
Nope, just cold cuts, salads and other deli fare. Nothing sweet back here, it’s all savory stuff. nothing sweet here and no cookies.
I looked around the store and eventually found this area up front…
This is the new bakery section, but it’s really just a wall, not really a traditional bakery, but I guess it’s better than nothing.
And there are a lot of cookies to choose from here.

I chose a batch of cookies from the wall and Heather rang me up at the check out lane.
She told me that the cookies were indeed baked fresh at Haddad’s every day.
I chose the S’more cookies from the Haddad’s Bakery wall.
These are chocolate cookies with vanilla icing and a little vanilla icing in the middle of the cookie.
They were very tasty and a sweet treat…however I still wish they hadn’t done away with the bakery at Haddad’s Market!
Oh well, I’ll try not to obsess over this all day, even though I probably will!
