I’ve been meaning to take a trip out to the Wheels O’ Time Museum ever since they opened in May. Every week I’ve planned on going out there something comes up and I always think, “I’ll get there next week.”
Well last week I found out that one of my childhood heroes was making an appearance and signing autographs for an afternoon. This hero is none other than Butch Patrick who played Eddie Munster on the iconic ’60’s TV show The Munsters!
I love The Munsters and Eddie was always my favorite Munster! So this became a high priority visit for MBIP! Let’s make tracks and go and meet Eddie Munster!
Here we are at Wheels O’ Time Museum. As you can see, it’s a little rainy out here, let’s go inside where it’s nice and dry!
Jerry and Laura were working the front desk and were very welcoming and friendly. They told me that Eddie Munster was here and signing autographs! So it’s off we go!
This gentlemen held the door for me, everyone is always so nice in here!
I took a few pictures of some of the cars in the front room here. This place has so much to see, I can never fit it all into one blog!
But I love all the classic cars in here and the Jumer’s wagon is always a treat to take a look at!
Okay, they told me that Eddie Munster was inside of this building, let’s go in and see what’s happening!
Wow, I had read he was here from noon till 7pm, so I figured that I’d come out around 2pm. I thought that there might be a big lunch crowd and probably another after work, but check out this line!
There’s more Eddie Munster fans in Peoria than I realized!
Eddie travels with his Munster drag-racing car, The Drag-U-La!
Quite the impressive car and the back area is a makeshift coffin!
He also brought his signature motorcycle, The Eddie Munstercycle! Very cool!
Okay, back in the line and things are moving along here.
As I get closer there’s some of the merchandise available and there’s Eddie Munster/Butch Patrick up at the autograph table!
I love The Munsters poster behind him!
Here he is signing autographs for fans and posing for photos!
Finally it’s my turn, here I am with Eddie Munster!
I never dreamed this would have happened when I was a kid enjoying The Munsters on TV!
I bought a photo of Eddie and Woof Woof and he autographed it for me!
need to get this framed and hang it in a place of honor in the MBIP World Headquarters!
On my way back to the car, I stopped and went aboard the train situated outside the Wheels O’ Time Museum.
The have the Vonachen’s Old Place dining car on display here and I love the nostalgic feeling of walking through here.
It was such a treat to eat in this car when I was a kid and I love that it’s on display here at Wheels O’ Time!
Check out more photos of the VOP train cars by clicking here.
There’s six buildings filled with fun and interactive items out here. You should definitely stop out and check them out here at Wheels O’ Time Museum!
