The Trolley is one of the longest standing bars in Peoria and on Farmington Road.
I heard that they’ve recently remodeled the inside and outside and added a new menu featuring lunch, dinner and breakfast on the weekends!
I made plans with a mystery luncheon guest to check this all out, so let’s head over to the Trolley, have some lunch and take a look around along with taking some pictures of the afternoon!
Here we are at The Trolley on Farmington Road in West Peoria.
This tavern has been standing tall in this location for many decades and Beke and Holly took over ownership in 2016 and etched their names in the cement on the front sidewalk.
Let’s go in and start today’s luncheon adventure!
The front bar is huge and there’s the aforementioned owner, Holly with her daughter, Callie behind the bar. It’s quite the family affair here at the Trolley.
After I took this photo, I saw my friends, Ed and Susie sitting at the bar and had a nice conversation with them. They recently moved back to Peoria from Florida and it was nice to see them and catch up on things!
There’s the half dozen beers on tap behind the bar.
And as I traveled to the other end of the bar, I found our luncheon guest star of the week, my friend, Michelle!
Always great to see Michelle and she’s looking pretty as ever! If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you know that Michelle is a recurring guest star here. And if you’re not a regular reader of this blog…well, what the hell is wrong with you?
They have a new menu here and lunch and dinner are served between 11am and 9pm on weekdays, dinner can be had till 10pm on the weekends and breakfast is also served on the weekends.
If you haven’t been to the Trolley lately you really need to check it out.
They’ve remodeled and expanded and the place is twice the size as it once was. Check out the dining area opposite the bar. There’s also a large gaming area in the back for discreet gambling if you’re feeling lucky!
There’s a large game room opposite the dining area with a pool table, state of the art dart machines and a golf game.
I love the neon lights in here!
They have a huge beer patio and outside area in the back.
They have live music, special events and parties back here, follow their facecrack page for updates on things and events happening out here.
Meanwhile, back at the bar, there’s Michelle and the silverware has been brought out, it’s just about lunchtime!
And on cue, here’s Callie serving our lunch up!
We started off with an appetizer order of the Pepper Jack Cheese Balls and they are served with ranch and blue cheese dipping sauce.
These are crunchy and tasty orbs and were a wonderful start for our lunch!
Michelle, got the daily lunch special which was a White Garlic Flatbread with fresh sausage, onions, mushrooms and topped with rich mozzarella cheese. She said it was very tasty and delicious!
I got the Patty Melt with a side of their homemade pasta salad. It looks fantastic!
The pasta salad was a nice and tasty homemade side dish.
The Patty Melt was absolutely fabulous! The burger was juicy and seasoned perfectly and it was topped with creamy and tasty cheese and fried onions and housed in buttery, grilled bakery fresh bread.
The food here is top-notch and if you’ve never had a meal here, you definitely need to try it out!
After lunch Beke came out and said hi and it was great to meet him. He said things have been going great in here and people are rediscovering this remodeled gem on Farmington Road every day!
Callie took a couple parting shots of Michelle and I after lunch.
Thanks to Michelle for meeting me and being this week’s special luncheon guest star! And thanks to Holly, Callie, Beke and everyone at The Trolley for a wonderful lunch and fun afternoon in West Peoria!
