This week we’re going to a fairly new restaurant here in Peoria that has homemade Korean Corn Dogs!
Jazzy’s Eatery had a unique menu and part of what makes it unique is a variety of Korean Corn Dog selections offered up on a daily basis. Korean Corn Dogs have become a popular trending food item lately and if you’re not familiar with them, click on this link and read all about them.
As far as I know, Jazzy’s Eatery is the only place in Peoria making this special style of Corn Dogs and they offer several different styles and flavors, so we’ll be making multiple stops here during this Corn Dog Tour to try them all out and give them the MBIP Cron Dog Rating!
Today marks stop number one and we’re meeting a special Corn Dog Guest Star today, so let’s make tracks to Jazzy’s Eatery!
Here we are at Jazzy’s Eatery, a new restaurant on the Peoria scene located on Prospect Road.
As we enter in and head up to the ordering counter, we’re greeted by the friendly owner, Kelly Jackson! Great to see her smiling face!
The menu has many unique items for sampling in here and there’s a seprerate menut for the Koreqn Corn Dogs which are served up every single day of the week.
We chose one and you will find out which one we picked if you just keep on scrolling!
Let’s head into the dining room and see if we can find this week’s special Corn Dog Guest Star…
And here he is, seated at this table, Terry Towery!
If that name and possibly that face is familiar to you, it could possibly be that you know Terry from his days as a veteran writer and reporter for the PJ Star. He wrote and worked for that newspaper for years here in Peoria.
After he left the Journal Star, Terry was a lead writer and covered the sports scene in Illinois for the Associated Press for many years.
Terry has currently finished writing a fiction novel that he’s in the process of shopping around to agents and publishing houses. That’s a job unto itself and we’ll keep you updated and informed here as to Terry’s progress with his forthcoming novel.
You can follow his facecrack author page for updates and news and Terry said he’s going to start updating this page with more frequency, so feel free to tune in and check out the updates!
Always great to see Terry and catch up on things!
Here’s a shot from the back of the dining room.
There’s the Jazzy’s logo on the floor on a piece of carpet and on the side wall in the restuarant.
The artwork on the walls in here live up to the name of the place, they’re really Jazzy! They contribute to the nice ambiance and vibe in here.
I decided to head back to our table because…
I sensed that our food would be arriving soon and here’s Kelly bringing the goods to the table!
We started off with an order of the Honey Cajun Onion Rings and these were absolutely fabulous.
The onion rings were crisp and tasty and had a Cajun seasoning and were drizzled with a honey sauce. It was a delicious blending of sweet and heat and a great start to our luncheon meal!
Here’s our main courses.
Terry got the Chicken Tender meal and I got a Coney Corn Dog. Both entrees look amazing!
As you can see, Terry’s chicken tender meal comes with three house-made sauces.
There was a ranch styled sauce, barbecue and buffalo flavored sauce to dip the crispy chicken tenders in.
Terry said that it was a delicious meal, the sauces were flavorful and the entire meal was delightful and a tasty treat!
And now, onto the star of the show: The Korean Coney Corn Dog!
This is a corn dog that’s battered and covered with coney dog sauce, onions, shredded cheese and dressed with ketchup and mustard.
It looks as fabulous as all of that sounds! Let’s dig in to this unique Korean Corn Dog and see how it tastes!
Wow, this is off the charts delicious and tasty!
There’s so many flavors and textures happening here that it’s kind of mind-blowing!
The coney dog sauce, onions and ketchup and mustard give it a nice combination of flavors and inside of the crispy battered corn dog is melted cheese and a savory beefy hot dog. What a flavor sensation packed into one corn dog!
This is definitely one of the best corn dogs I’ve ever had in my life!
