So last week we finished off the MBIP Grilled Cheese Tour and that can only mean one thing…time for a new MBIP food tour on Tuesday!
And that’s exactly what we’re doing today, so let’s go and start this new tour!
Off we go and our mystery guest star is behind the wheel as we head over to…
Twistee Treat in East Peoria!
I love this ice cream cone building and it’s certainly one of the most unique food destinations here in Central Illinois!
Check out the “30 “ in the window…let’s go inside and see what that’s all about.
Once inside we met Carrie who told us that Twistee Treat is celebrating their 30th anniversary here in East Peoria!
Carrie owns Twistee Treat and she told us she’s spent most of her life here as this was her first job as a teenager. Very cool!
We settled in at a booth and its time to reveal our mystery guest star and driver…Jason!
Jason was the co-host of the Couch Pilots Podcast, which I’m proud to have been a guest star on and he’s currently working on the Radio Rewind show.
Always great to see Jason and hang out with him!
Here’s Wendy delivering our palate cleansers before we begin this new food tour.
I got vanilla ice cream and Jason got some sort of banana sundae that he invented on the spot. Very impressive and now I’ll take a few photos while the new food tour item is being cooked up!
There’s a jukebox in the back with pictures of the holy trinity of Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson plastered above.
They have special 30th anniversary t-shirts for sale in here.
There’s another room over here with tables and booths and all kinds of TV photos on the walls. There’s even local heroes, Captain Jinks and Salty Sam on the wall!
And now it’s the moment of truth, justice and the American Way as Carrie delivers the new MBIP food item for this upcoming tour!
Ladies and gentlemen…welcome to…

The MBIP Questionable Corn Dog Tour!
Yes, we’re going to see just how many corn dogs we can eat in and around Peoria, Illinois.
I’m not setting an amount of time, because truthfully, I have no idea how many places serve corn dogs around here.
I guess we’ll find out!
Here’s our corn dog basket with two corn dogs to start the tour off.
We got a combination of Tater Tots and Twistee fries to accompany the corn dogs.
There’s Jason digging in to his corn dog.
I not only added mustard to mine, but I also tried the Scooter B’s hot sauce.
Carrie told us this is locally made hot sauce made by Scott Burns. If you’d like to try this sauce, give him a call at 309-868-6637.
That hot sauce added some nice flavor and zing to this corn dog! This was a fun and memorable start to this corn dog tour!
Thanks to Jason for being the first guest star and driving today, this was a lot of fun and a fantastic start to the newest MBIP Food Tour!

Corn Dog Rating
{Based On A Four Corn Dog Rating System)
Two and a half corn dogs, this was a delicious corn dog and the homemade Scooter B’s Sauce definitely took it up a notch!
A wonderful start to this new MBIP Corn Dog Food Tour!
