8 Bit Arcade Bar is certainly one of Peoria’s most unique taverns and arcades. In fact it’s Peoria’s only tavern and arcade!

This downtown destination specializes in craft beer and vintage arcade games and about a year ago they moved around the corner from their original spot on State Street to this new and bigger location on Water Street. I’ve been meaning to stop by and take a look around and say hi to Jason, the owner and it looks like today is that day.

So let’s head downtown and celebrate this week’s MBIPTGIF Happy Hour! Woo and hoo!

Here we are at the new spot for 8 Bit Arcade. Let’s go in and see what’s happening inside because it is freezing cold out here!

Wow, it’s huge in here and very impressive looking! As I made my way inside I ran into the owner of this massive enterprise, Jason, behind the bar.

He said that things have been going great at this new location and that they’re just about ready to celebrate their first year anniversary in this spot on Water Street.

He told me to feel free to take some photos in here, so that’s exactly what we’re going to do!

The bar is impressive and I love the wooden tables attached to it.

8 Bit Arcade is Peoria’s top craft beer bar with a selection of over 100 craft beers available, just check out that well-stocked cooler behind the bar! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cooler with that many beer selections in it!

And they’ve got eighteen beers on tap as well! This has to be the largest variety of craft beer in one place in Peoria! Very cool!

There’s more cans on display at the bar and if beer isn’t your thing, they also can craft any cocktail you desire in here with a full line of liquor behind the bar.

In addition to having the largest selection of craft beer, the other thing 8 Bit Arcade is known for is their large selection of arcade games in the bar.

These are vintage games and they are all free to play! Here’s a nice selection up in the front hallway.

And there’s a huge inventory of games opposite the bar.

There’s even more games back here in this corner room with tables to take a break at.

Every hour is a happy hour at 8 Bit Arcade and while they don’t have a specific happy hour in here. there are daily drink specials.

On Monday they offer one dollar off of all craft bottles and cans, Tuesday there’s $4.00 Triptych Dank Meme, on Wednesday they have $2.50 domestic cans of beer and on Friday and Saturday there’s four dollar shots of Fireball and Tullamore Dew available!

And of course the gaming in here is always free of charge!
