I heard about a really unique and intriguing cafe that opened up last March called, River Kitty Cafe.
It’s a coffee shop where you can hang out with cats while enjoying coffee or tea. I’ve been meaning to go and check it out and since we’re just about out of 2024, I thought I’d better get over there and see what this place is all about.
And so, here we go!
Here we are at River Kitty Cafe on University Street in Peoria. Let’s go in and start this purrfect evening!
There’s the coffee bar with pastries, the coffee making area and different flavors on the table.
Let’s see who that person is behind the flavor selection…
It’s the owner of the River Kitty Cafe, Holly Walker, flashing a beautiful smile for the MBIP Camera.
Holly opened the River Kitty Cafe last March after being inspired by a cat cafe on a work trip to Minneapolis. She came back here to Peoria and tried to find something similar and discovered there was nothing like that here. So she opened her own cat cafe up and she said business has been great.
She invited me to take a look around, so let’s do just that!
There’s a nice, comfortable front area with tables to relax and enjoy your coffee and pastries at in here.
I love the cat art in here on the walls and they have cat gifts, toys and t-shirts for sale in here.
Behind that window is the cat room and this fellow came over to get his picture taken!
Let’s go in to the cat room and see what’s happening in there.
There’s a nice crowd of cat lovers in here enjoying themselves.
The cats are enjoying the visitors as well, so everyone is happy in here!
The room has a nice, comforting vibe to it.
Here’s four portraits of the cats lounging around in the cafe.
All the cats are available for adoption in here, so you can get one or two to go when your visit is over!
It took me four shots, but Patsy finally posed for the MBIP Camera. Good girl!
Extreme close-up!
The cats enjoy all the attention the visitors give to them.
These two are sleeping on the job! Nice work if you can get it!
This is such a fun and unique place in Peoria! You can check out their schedule and make an appointment for a visit by clicking here.
Thanks to Holly for the hospitality and for creating such a fun place in Peoria to visit!
