Way back when I first started this blog, one of the first posts I ever published was about a visit to the legendary Shamrock Pub which had been in business under the operation of owners, Terry and Molly Donnelly since 1970. You can see that post by clicking here and there’s a picture of the neon-lit front window below.
Shortly after that post went up, The Shamrock closed and out of the ashes of The Shamrock, Donnelly’s Irish Pub arose! Terry and Molly’s son Ryan is now the owner and manager of this fine pub and it’s today’s MBIPTGIF Happy Hour destination!
And here we are at the aforementioned Donnelly’s Irish Pub!
They have the patio furniture all set up for the spring and summer outdoor dining and drinking experience!
Let’s go inside and take a look around.
There’s press clippings and photos here in the front foyer. The last one is a tribute to the memory of The Shamrock bar. The pub that started it all!
Here’s the bar area that’s located in the front half of the building. It’s got a comforting and welcoming vibe to it!
The bar itself is a classic marble-topped, wooden framed beauty!
They have a large selection of beers on tap and the wooden back bar is certainly looking fabulous!
There’s two gaming machines in here if you’re feeling lucky!
There’s a row of tables opposite the bar, comfortable leather booths line the back wall and there’s a nice round dining table over here in the corner of the bar.
Donnelly’s also has a nice dining area with tables and booths along the walls. They have a full dining menu with a Shamrock Burger, Waterford Chicken Sandwich, Donnelly’s Irish Sausage, Fish and Chips and other delicious homemade entrees to choose from.
I found Molly Donnelly, who was the original owner of The Shamrock along with her husband Terry over here in the corner with her sister and friends enjoying an afternoon game on the dining table.
That’s Molly, second from the left next to her sister on her right and her friends on the left of her. Great to see all of them and we had a nice chat! She said the place has been doing great business and that her son Ryan, who runs the operation now is doing wonderful!
Here’s a shot from the back of Donnelly’s Irish Pub bar.
Donnelly’s Irish Pub Happy Hour runs from Tuesday through Friday with a dollar off of draft beers, domestic beers and house wines.
There’s also daily lunch specials from 11am to 2pm.
Stop by and enjoy the friendly Irish times at Donnelly’s Irish Pub, they’ll leave the Christmas lights on for you!
