We’ve hit the Spinal Tappish week number eleven on this cheesy tour and we’ve got a special guest star today! I saw Country Club BBQ has Mac and Cheese offered as one of their side dishes so I thought we’d try that out this week.
And so it’s off to Farmington Road we go!
Here we are at Country Club BBQ, I’ve done several blogs from here and have had lots of the items from their menu, but I’ve never had the Mac and Cheese! All that changes today!
They have a large square, wooden bar in the front of the room and I think I see our special guest star at that bar.
It’s none other than Chad Wallace, the many, the myth, the legend! The two of us are going to do our annual counting of the gumballs at Northwoods Mall tomorrow, but today we’re sampling the Mac and Cheese here.
Well, I’m going to be sampling it and Chad is going to try something else, as he’s the only person I’ve ever known who doesn’t like Mac and Cheese! In fact he downright hates it, so him being the special guest star today is irony at its finest hour! Alanis Morissette would be proud!
Here’s another angle of the front bar and some of their homemade BBQ sauce bottles.
As you can see, they have a large selection of beers on tap.
There’s a dining room and tables opposite the bar. I love the Shiner Beers sign on the far wall!
A Gaming Lounge is discreetly tucked away in the corner over here for all of you gamblers out there!
There’s another bar in the very back of the dining room that’s fully stocked with more beverages to wet your whistle.
This door leads to a screened in beer patio with tables, chairs and another bar.
There’s also tables and chairs on this outside patio area.
Meanwhile, back at the front bar…
Our food has started to arrive!
We started off with an order of the Sweet Chili Chicken Wings and they were so tasty and delicious! There’s Chad biting into one of them and he loved the wings.
We’re off to a great start!
Now on to the main courses!
As I mentioned, Chad is not a Mac and Cheese fan, so he got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Hand-Cut Fries and I got the Mac and Cheese which is a side dish.
Chad gave the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich a high rating and said it was very flavorful and delicious. He gave me a piece of the chicken to sample it was spicy, juicy and packed with flavor!
Now on to the star of the show, this week’s Mac and Cheese.
It’s a side dish, so it’s a smaller portion of Mac and Cheese. Let’s dig in and see how it tastes.
There’s tiny bits of bacon mixed in with the pasta and melted cheese, but this is pretty standard Mac and Cheese. It’s not bad, but somewhat on the bland side and nothing too special.

MACARONI AND CHEESE RATING FOR WEEK NUMBER Eleven AT Country Club BBQ
This is pretty much your run of the mill Mac and Cheese and it’s what I was expecting as this is a side dish and not an entree.
It’s not the greatest Mac and Cheese we’ve had on this cheesy tour, but it certainly wasn’t bad. The wings and that Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich made up for this somewhat bland Mac and Cheese.
I’ll give it a two and a half box rating. It’s not the greatest Mac and Cheese in the world, but certainly not the worst either!
