Okay, we’re a little overdue for a Scott Turley Road Trip, we both got busy and we didn’t have one in April, but we’re making up for it because we’re headed to a place called Beaver…uh oh, there’s someone knocking on the door…
Beaver Cleaver! No, I wasn’t calling out for you, you didn’t let me finish and now you’ve turned the blog black and white! Go find Larry Mondello and let the air out of Eddie Haskell’s bike tires!
Whoops-a-doozy, there’s another knock on the door…
Okay, this is more like it, it’s the MBIIP, Pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley in living color! I love his shirt, as always!
Scott’s found a place in Knoxville, Illinois called Beaver’s Teeth Axe Throwing, Brew & Chew and it sounds like a unique and interesting destination for this month’s road trip, so let’s go hit the road to Knoxville, Illinois!
We’re on the road again with Scott behind the wheel. It’s a lovely May day and there’s a signpost ahead: “Welcome to Historic Knoxville.” We’re almost there!
Here we are at Beaver’s Teeth Axe Throwing Brew & Chew! I love the name on the side of the building and this looks like an impressive establishment!
They have an outside patio and as the sign says, Mexican food is served all day! That’s good news and there’s Scott leading the way inside. Let’s follow along and start this fun afternoon in Knoxville, Illinois!
Wow, this place is huge! There’s a large dining room in the front and Scott’s already settled in to the bar in the back of the room!
Ashley was the pretty and friendly bartender on duty and here she is serving up a margarita to Scoot! We’re waiting to order our lunch because there’s still two guest stars that are going to be showing up in a little bit.
Till then, let’s take some photos in here!
As you can see, the bar is well stocked and they have a large selection of beers on tap.
Here’s a shot of the dining room from the back, large wooden booths line the front of the room and there’s a gaming area tucked discreetly behind this wall.
There’s a fun game room in the very back stocked with a pool table, dart boards, various games and a full ice cream bar!
These three saw me taking pictures and asked if I’d take a photo of them, so of course I pointed the camera their way and snapped this photo.
Smile, you’re on MBIP Camera!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, there’s Scott and our other two special guests have arrived!
This is Steve and Levi and it was great to meet them!
Scott and Steve have been friends forever and Steve lived in the Philippines for years where he met Levi. They moved back to the states a while ago, lived in New Hampshire for a while and now they’re living nearby in Chillicothe.
Great to meet them and we decided to settle in for lunch at this table and placed our food order.
Service here was quick and before you know it, our food has arrived! They have a large menu here with a nice selection of Mexican entrees and lots of original appetizers, sandwiches and entrees.
As the overhead shot shows, we got a nice sampling of food from the menu!
Here’s a shot of the world-famous “Turley Bite” which Steve enjoyed while Levi was concentrating on her lunch and ignored this festive moment!
This place features axe throwing and Ashley showed us the rules and demonstrated the finer points of axe throwing and soon everyone joined in except me because I had to take photos!
There’s everyone throwing the axe and it was a very fun time. Axe and you shall receive!
So who scored the bullseye? I’ll never tell, you should’ve been there!
Thanks to Ashley and everyone at Beaver’s Teeth for the fun afternoon, delicious food and drink and the wonderful service.
It was fabulous to meet Steve and Levi and thanks to MBIP Pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley for discovering this place and for driving!
