We’ve hit double digits on this cheesy tour, this is our tenth week and we’ve got a special guest star to celebrate this landmark week.
I’ve never had the Mac and Cheese at One World Cafe and all that will change today as we travel there for our tenth order of Mac and Cheese!
Here we are at One World Cafe on Main Street. I’ve eaten many meals here, but I’ve never tried the Mac and Cheese. All that changes today, so let’s go inside and start another cheesy adventure!
Here’s the front room, I’ll take more pictures of it in a bit, but for now, I see our special guest seated in that booth in the main dining room over here…
It’s my friend, Tricia! Tricia is author of not one, but two books!
Last year she came out with her debut book, “Running Blind In Traffic,” and just about a month ago her second book was released to the public!
This one is called, “Diary of a Mad White Woman.” It’s a collection of thought provoking, real-life stories from Tricia’s life. As she says, “I'm a complex person and it's complicated in here. Just tighten your seatbelt and come along for the ride!”
The book is available online at Lulu.com and in the following stores here in Peoria: The Book Rack, The Book Nook, lit. on fire books and Moon Dancer Boutique.
Tricia has been promoting the book and check out this interview on 25 News and on The Greg and Dan Show on WMBD.
She’s also been doing book signings and her next one happens this Saturday, May 11 at Tails of a Bookworm in Pekin.
Tricia will be selling and signing her book along with other authors and there’s a raffle, venors and adoptable animals. So stop by, buy Tricia’s book and support our local stores and authors.
Okay, back to lunch!
Carrie was our pretty and friendly waitress and she took our luncheon Mac and Cheese orders.
And now the various clocks on the walls say it’s time for me to take some random photos in here.
Here’s two shots of the main dining room and the mural painted on the side wall.
And there’s more art over here. One cool thing that One World Cafe does is that they have a local featured artist on display and this month the artist is Jenna Henvick of Wild Banyan Creations.
Stop by and check out all of her artwork and it’s all on sale if you’d like to take home a piece of local and original artwork.
Here’s some more photos of the front room with the daily specials and a full bar in the back of the room.
Now that spring has finally sprung, the outside patio area is open for dining and drinking. It’s nice and spacious out here with umbrella covered tables and chairs.
Meanwhile, back at our booth, the Macaroni and Cheese lunches have arrived!
Tricia got a side order and a fruit salad and I got the Mac and Cheese entree portion. It looks delicious!
Tricia didn’t want to be photographed while eating, so of course I took photos of her trying to dodge the MBIP Camera!
Here’s the star of today’s show, the entree portion of One World Cafe’s Macaroni and Cheese.
They use corkscrew pasta and it’s covered in a homemade cheese sauce and you have your choice of additions to add to it. I chose bacon and chicken and this was a rich and tasty Mac and Cheese entree.
It was a large portion and very filling and satisfying!

MACARONI AND CHEESE RATING FOR WEEK NUMBER Ten AT One World Cafe
This is a tasty and delightful Mac and Cheese dish and they offer two additions of the following: Chicken, bacon, tomato, spinach and broccoli. I chose the chicken and bacon and it was a delicious and tasty Macaroni and Cheese entree.
I’ll give this a high rating of three boxes and it’s given the MBIP Mac and Cheese recommendation! Stop by and try it today!
Thanks to Tricia for being our special guest and stop by and say hi to her this Saturday, May 11 at Tails of a Bookworm in Pekin!
