Jack’s On Adams has a wonderful menu that includes their own Peoria Style Tavern Pizza, a Lou Burger, a Tampa Bay Cuban Sandwich, Bluesy Beef and a Jumbo Dog, which I think is quite possibly the biggest hot dog in Peoria!
You don’t believe me? Well, let’s just go to Jack’s On Adams and I’ll show you!
Hot diggity dog, here we are at Jack’s On Adams!
Let’s go in and start this second Dog Days of Summer week.
Wow, I’m here a little after 1pm and there’s still a good post lunch crowd in here. Let’s go get my usual table over across from the bar in here.
I got settled in and bartender Dylan brought me over an iced tea. So far the afternoon is off to a spectacular start!
And now things will get even better as we introduce this week’s hot dog guest star…
Terry Grawey! Always fantastic to have Terry join us for an afternoon out on the town.
Terry’s a Hypnohumorist who performs his fun hypnosis shows all over the country. He’s back in town after a winter tour and he’s got a show scheduled here in Peoria this Saturday and you can read all about that below.
Terry has a show coming up this Saturday evening at Cafe Santa Rosa with fellow hypnotist, Terry Blome.
I’m going to go and so should you. I’ll be doing a blog on the show this Saturday night so you can volunteer to be hypnotized and be the star of the show and also be featured on this blog!
This is event is a corporate sponsored show, so tickets are free! Just scan the QR card above with your phone to reserve your free seats to the show! I hope to see you there this Saturday evening!
Okay, back to the hot dog blog, already in progress…
We checked out the menu and there’s the Jumbo Dog selection. A half pound all beef hot dog? Yes please!
Dylan took our order so that’s my signal to abandon Terry and take a few photos in here.
They have a nice full bar in here and I love the mirror with the Jack’s logo hanging on the wall over here.
There’s the dining room and the stage for live music up in front. Speaking of live music, there’s a 4th of July party happening here this Thursday and keep on scrolling for more information on that explosive event!
Off to the side is a large and comfortable gaming room for all of you gamblers out there!
The summer is officially here and Jack’s beer garden is open for the season.
Stop by and watch the world go by outside as you enjoy some food and drinks on this gorgeous outside patio area in downtown Peoria!
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our lunch is arriving!
We started off with one of my favorite items from the expansive food menu: the JACKd Up Shrimp!
These are lightly breaded fried jumbo shrimp tossed in the JACKd UP sweet heat honey sauce.
They are so crispy and delicious, I love them and get an order every time I’m in here!
Here come the main courses! Terry got the Maggie’s Garden pizza which is Jack’s Peoria Tavern style pizza topped with onion, green pepper, banana pepper and mushrooms.
I got the Jumbo Dog with onions and coleslaw. Everything looks and smells fantastic, time to dig in!
Terry loved the pizza and he gave it high ratings. All the pizzas in here are made from scratch and they are so delicious!
Okay, it’s time to sample this week’s hot dog, but first, let’s try out the coleslaw.
I love the seasoning it’s topped with and the coleslaw is crunchy and very tasty. Okay, now on to the main course of this blog…
The Jumbo Dog!
I have a specific way to eat the Jumbo Dog here at Jack’s. I get an order of the JACKd UP sweet heat honey sauce and an order of the buffalo sauce and add them to the incredibly large hot dog and onions.
Okay, time to take a bit of this monster-sized, sauced-up hot dog!
This is an amazing hot dog! Terry took the MBIP Camera and got a shot of me taking a monster sized bite. Man Bites Dog!
It’s a half pound Nathan’s all beef hot dog and it’s so incredibly tasty! The onions add a nice crunch and the two zingy sauces take this dog to a fabulous flavor level. Add in the bakery fresh bun and this is one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever had!
Here’s the man himself, Jack Berres, the owner and operator of Jack’s On Adams. Jack was busy back in the kitchen but came out to say hi and see how we enjoyed our lunch.
He also said there’s a fun 4th of July party happening here at Jack’s this Thursday and you can read all about that below! Great to see Jack, as always!
Jack’s is a great location to watch the Riverfront fireworks go off on the 4th of July this Thursday.
The festive party starts at 5pm and there’s live music by Roy Ponce and friends and this is going to be an explosive evening at Jack’s! You can read more about it by clicking right here!

This Week’s Hot Dog Rating
This is a gourmet hot dog and it’s a delicious treat!
The hot dog is an all beef Nathan’s quality hot dog, covered in chopped onions and served up on a bakery fresh hot dog bun.
When you add the JACKd UP sweet heat honey sauce and the Buffalo sauce it turns this into one of the most tasty, saucy and flavorful hot dogs you’ve ever had!
I’m giving this Jumbo Dog a super high rating of three and three quarters Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles rating. We may have just found Peoria’s best hot dog just two weeks into this tour!
Stay tuned for further hot dog updates!

Thanks to Jack, Dylan and everyone at Jack’s On Adams for a wonderful and delicious afternoon and thanks to Terry for joining me. I hope to see you at his exciting and fun Hypnohumorist show this Saturday at the Cafe Santa Rosa!
